People with mental health disorders have a significant lack of physical health care. They also have higher rates of medical co-morbidity. The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility and the linkage to care of systematic screening for hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in patients admitted for an acute psychiatric event at the emergency department (ED).

Mature male sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) primarily inhabit high latitude regions, travelling to tropical/temperate waters for breeding, where females and juveniles reside in cohesive social groups. Though mating is known to occur at low latitudes, the timing, duration, and routes of adult male migrations between feeding and breeding areas are poorly known. To study movement patterns of adult male sperm whales, 29 individuals were equipped with satellite transmitters in the Northeast Atlantic Arctic (69-79°N).

Galectins are a family of animal lectins involved in cell adhesion, tumor differentiation, and apoptosis that can bind reversibly to carbohydrates with a high affinity for β-galactosides. Thus far, however, the primary structure and solved three-dimensional structure have been described for only a few amphibian galectins. Therefore, this work aimed to identify and structurally characterize the galectin (RdG) present in the secretion of the parotid gland of R.

Commercial yeast has been frequently employed to improve the digestibility of ruminant diets, albeit these microorganisms are not indigenous to the rumen microbiome. In this investigation, our aim was to assess the in vitro digestibility of Urochloa decumbens hay (UDH) with the incorporation of two selected yeast strains isolated of ruminal fluid of Zebu cattle. Rumen fluid was collected at the onset, midpoint, and final of the dry period in a semiarid region Brazil.
