Carbon footprint has become a reference indicator of the environmental impact of food production. Governments are increasingly demanding a trend towards low-carbon-footprint production in order to reduce the impact on climate change. In this sense, the study of consumers' preferences and assessment of products from the perspective of their carbon footprint is crucial to achieve a green and circular economy.

: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) has profound effects on people with ALS (PALS) and caregivers. There is a paucity of research detailing and comparing PALS and caregiver day-to-day perspectives of ALS. : A survey developed collaboratively by The ALS Association and a panel of experts in ALS care was designed to broadly sample the experience of PALS and caregivers with respect to physical and emotional symptoms, the efficacy of treatment approaches, and goals for future treatments.

The system is based on a computer controllable tunable light source, which can be coupled with all types of endoscopes. Performance evaluation showed about 60% flat transmittance in almost all the operating wavelengths, at about 13 nm bandwidth per tuning step.

We present a novel biophotonic method and imaging modality for estimating and mapping neoplasia-specific functional and structural parameters of the cervical precancerous epithelium. Estimations were based on experimental data obtained from dynamic contrast-enhanced optical imaging of cervix, in vivo. We have developed a pharmacokinetic, in silico, model of the optical tracer's uptake by the epithelium.

Real time spectral imaging and mapping at video rates can have tremendous impact not only on diagnostic sciences but also on fundamental physiological problems. We report the first real-time spectral mapper based on the combination of snap-shot spectral imaging and spectral estimation algorithms. Performance evaluation revealed that six band imaging combined with the Wiener algorithm provided high estimation accuracy, with error levels lying within the experimental noise.
