In the last decades, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats have become serious risks prompting countries to prioritize preparedness for such incidents. As CBRN scenarios are very difficult and expensive to recreate in real life, computer simulation is particularly suited for assessing the effectiveness of contingency plans and identifying areas of improvement. These computer simulation exercises require realistic and dynamic victim profiles, which are unavailable in a civilian context.

Magmaris® (Biotronik AG, Switzerland) is the first RMS and early experience has shown promising results in stable coronary artery disease. Acute coronary syndromes have been hypothesized as a potential target group for bioresorbable scaffolds, but the efficacy and safety of RMS has not been extensively studied in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). BEST-MAG is a prospective multicenter trial designed to evaluate optical coherence tomography (OCT-)guided implantation of resorbable magnesium scaffold (RMS) in STEMI.

We evaluated factors that led to a higher diagnostic efficiency, such as phenotypic category, clinical characterization, and variant analysis strategy.
Methods: fCES was performed for 303 fetuses (183 ongoing and 120 ended pregnancies, in which chromosomal abnormalities had been excluded) using a trio/duo-based approach and a multistep variant analysis strategy.
In the context of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, myocardial injury is a relatively frequent finding. Progression to cardiogenic shock has been rarely described, especially in healthy young patients. The underlying mechanisms are to date controversial.
