Are Queer Men Queering Consent? A Scoping Review of Sexual Consent Literature Among Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer Men.

Objectives: To review the literature on Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer (GBTQ) men and sexual consent.

Methods: Eight electronic databases were searched in June 2022, yielding 1924 articles; 30 were included for review after screening.

Results: We found a growing body of literature focused on GBTQ men, with an increasingly intersectional lens.

Smartphone-based dating applications like Grindr are popular among men who have sex with men (MSM), and it is common for MSM to engage in sexual activity with other users. Despite this, there is limited research on MSM's negotiations of consent for online sexual interactions and in-person sexual encounters. This study examined MSM's understandings and practices of consent on dating apps and in person.

Surgical site infections (SSIs) after craniotomy lead to additional morbidity and mortality for patients, which are related to higher costs for the healthcare system. Furthermore, SSIs are associated with a longer hospital stay for the patient, which is particularly detrimental in glioblastoma patients due to their limited life expectancy. Risk factors for SSIs have already been described for craniotomies in general.

Background: In stereotactic radiotherapy, dose is prescribed to an isodose surrounding the planning target volume (PTV). However, the desired dose inhomogeneity inside the PTV leaves the specific dose distribution to the gross tumor volume (GTV) unspecified. A simultaneously integrated boost (SIB) to the GTV could solve this shortcoming.

The unsolicited "dick pic" (DP), which refers to a photo of a penis that is sent without the consent of the recipient, has been identified as a form of technology-facilitated sexual violence (Powell & Henry, 2017). While men who have sex with men (MSM) experience elevated rates of technology-facilitated sexual violence, much of the research has focused on interactions between heterosexual men and women. This study investigated the experiences that MSM have with sending and receiving unsolicited DPs on dating apps.
