FGFR3 mutations are among the most frequent genomic alterations in urothelial cancer (UC) being mainly associated with the luminal papillary (LumP) subtype. With the establishment of fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibitors, the treatment of UC is now shifting more and more towards personalized medicine. A systematic review using Medline and scientific meeting records was carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses guidelines to assess the potential role of FGFR inhibitors in combination with additional therapies for the management of UC.

Article Synopsis
  • Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an underdiagnosed genetic condition that increases the risk of early cardiovascular issues, highlighting the need for early interventions in children.
  • An interventional study with 10 patients showed that those without FH achieved significant lipid level improvements through lifestyle changes alone, while genetically confirmed FH patients did not see similar benefits without medication.
  • The study emphasizes the critical role of genetic testing for FH in guiding treatment decisions, as it may not be routinely included in current screening practices.

Lateral epicondylitis of the elbow, commonly known as tennis elbow, is a musculoskeletal disorder characterized by pain and degeneration of the common extensor tendon. Despite various treatments, optimal management remains debated. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of focal extracorporeal shockwave therapy (F-ESWT) alone versus a combination of focal and radial pressure waves (F-ESWT+R-PW) in treating chronic lateral epicondylitis.

Background And Objective: Collagen biosynthesis is intricately involved in the development and progression of solid tumors. Renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi) impede TGF-β-mediated collagen synthesis in tumors by hindering activation of the angiotensin receptor. Our aim was to investigate a potential association between RASi use and the aggressiveness of prostate cancer (PCa).
