[Clostridium difficile in visceral surgery].

Background: For surgeons the early identification of patients with clostridium difficile infections (CDI) is important, because the incidence and virulence of this potentially life-threatening disease are increasing.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe the frequency of CDI among surgical patients, to analyze which treatment was successful and to define which factors were associated with mortality.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients with CDI was performed.
