Vaccination process of immunocompromised patients in the Netherlands: Current challenges and potential solutions.

Introduction: Immunocompromised patients (ICP) have an increased risk for infectious diseases. Vaccines could help reduce this risk. However, ICP do not always receive or are reimbursed for the specific vaccinations on which they are dependent in the Netherlands.

Enforcing trustworthy cloud SLA with witnesses: A game theory-based model using smart contracts.

There lacks trust between the cloud customer and provider to enforce traditional cloud SLA (Service Level Agreement) where the blockchain technique seems a promising solution. However, current explorations still face challenges to prove that the off-chain SLO (Service Level Objective) violations really happen before recorded into the on-chain transactions. In this paper, a witness model is proposed implemented with smart contracts to solve this trust issue.

Population movements, borders, and Chagas disease.

Currently, Chagas disease is a complex global health problem with local and global implications. In the present article, we approach this complexity from the perspective of human mobility and its effects on people's health in places of origin and in transit and destination. We raise key concepts such as human mobility - understood as a possible socio-structural and economic determination of health -, the associated social and institutional barriers and the processes of social exclusion related to Chagas disease.

Detection of rhinoviruses by tissue culture and two independent amplification techniques, nucleic acid sequence-based amplification and reverse transcription-PCR, in children with acute respiratory infections during a winter season.

Five hundred seventeen consecutive nasopharyngeal aspirates were collected between October 1998 and May 1999 for episodes of acute respiratory tract infections in children presenting at the University Hospital of Antwerp. Culture and nucleic acid amplification techniques--nucleic acid sequence-based amplification (NASBA) and reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR)--were applied to detect rhinoviruses (RVs). Other respiratory viruses were detected by immunofluorescence (IF) analysis of the specimens and IF analysis of shell vial cultures.
