In order to elucidate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of action of Zhengqing Fengtongning Sustained-release Tablets on knee osteoarthritis, this study created a knee osteoarthritis model using 0.2 mL 40 g·L~(-1) papain and randomly divided the rats into the model group, high-dose and low-dose groups of Zhengqing Fengtongning Sustained-release Tablets, and celecoxib group. All groups were given the drug for four weeks, with the diameter of their knee joint being measured during this period.

A flat membrane-based liquid-phase microextraction (FM-LPME) method was developed for the first time to simultaneously separate and extract basic and acidic pesticide analytes from the same sample. Using carbendazim and pirimicarb as representative basic pesticides, along with bromacil, diflubenzuron and 1,2-dibenzoyl-1‑tert-butylhydrazine (RH-5849) as representative acidic pesticides, the performance of FM-LPME for the extraction of these model pesticides has been optimised individually. Under optimal extraction conditions, the developed FM-LPME-LC-MS/MS method exhibited excellent linearity, with R values exceeding 0.

Plant-driven extracellular vesicles (PEVs) have attracted significant interest due to their natural origin, remarkable bioactivity, and efficacy in drug encapsulation and target delivery. In our work, extracellular vesicles from Citri Reticulate Pericranium (CEVs) were isolated and investigated their physicochemical characteristics and biological activities. We identified the vesicle structures as regular, with a particle size of approximately 200 nm.

Background & Aims: Current prognostic models for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) are not extensively validated and widely accepted. We aimed to develop and validate a continuous model incorporating tumor burden and biology for individual survival prediction and risk stratification.

Methods: Overall, 4,377 treatment-naive candidates for whom TACE was recommended, from 39 centers in five countries, were enrolled and divided into training, internal validation, and two external validation datasets.

Background: Intermuscular bones (IBs) are segmental intramembranous ossifications located within myosepta. They share similarities with tendon ossification, a form of heterotopic ossification (HO). The mechanisms underlying IB formation remain incompletely understood.
