Objective: To identify the factors that contribute to the disparity in the number of lymph nodes examined for curative colon cancer resections.
Design: Our prospectively accrued cancer registry was analyzed for all colon cancer resections performed in a consecutive 52-month period (January 1, 2003, through April 30, 2007).
Setting: The study was performed at an 851-bed community hospital.
In the decade spanning 1983 through 1992, 68 people were killed by firearms while hunting in North Carolina (average of 1.66 fatalities/100,000 licenses issued). Of these, 58 deaths involved two parties, a shooter and a victim.

Purpose: This study is a dosimetric review of our experience incorporating both external beam radiotherapy and endobronchial brachytherapy in the treatment of inoperable endobronchial obstructing lung cancer.
Methods And Materials: Sixty-five patients with symptomatic inoperable endobronchial obstructing lung cancer received combined external beam radiotherapy and temporary endobronchial iridium (Ir)-192 implants between February 1987 and May 1991. External beam irradiation doses ranged from 55 to 66 Gy.
