Background: Bilirubin has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer properties, with an inverse relationship between its levels and cancer risk and prognosis. However, the prognostic value of serum bilirubin in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains uncertain.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed pretreatment serum total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL), and indirect bilirubin (IBIL) in 284 AML patients and 316 healthy controls.
What Is Already Known About This Topic?: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) low-level viremia (LLV) during antiretroviral therapy (ART) occurs frequently in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
What Is Added By This Report?: Among people living with HIV who achieved virological success [viral load (VL) <1,000 copies/mL] after initiating ART in Dehong Prefecture, Southwest China, 17.6% experienced first-year LLV of 50-999 copies/mL First-year LLV emerged as an independent risk factor for subsequent viral non-suppression compared with participants maintaining first-year VL <50 copies/mL.
Purpose: To explore the effect of different reconstruction algorithms (ASIR-V and DLIR) on image quality and emphysema quantification in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients under ultra-low-dose scanning conditions.
Materials And Methods: This prospective study with patient consent included 62 COPD patients. Patients were examined by pulmonary function test (PFT), standard-dose CT (SDCT) and ultra-low-dose CT (ULDCT).
Climate change is compelling species to seek refuge at higher elevations and latitudes. While researchers commonly study these migrations using discontinuous elevational transects, this methodology may introduce significant biases into our understanding of species movement. These potential biases could lead to flawed biodiversity conservation policies if left unexamined.
