Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP) is a well conserved and ubiquitously expressed multifunctional protein found in many organisms and is involved in many pathophysiological processes like cell proliferation, differentiation, development and cell death. The role of TCTP in anti-apoptosis and cancer metastasis makes it a promising candidate for cancer therapy. Dictyostelium discoideum, a protist, has two isoforms (TCTP1 and TCTP2, now referred to as TPT1 and TPT2) of which we have earlier elucidated TPT1.

Background: Male genital lichen sclerosus (MGLSc) is a chronic and acquired inflammatory dermatosis associated with substantial sexual dysfunction and urological morbidity and mortality. The age incidence of MGLSc is held to be biphasic, with a peak in infancy and another in adulthood. A recent review has implied two peaks in adulthood (making it triphasic overall); this triphasicity has been our emergent clinical impression from a voluminous practice.

Background: Crohn's disease is a chronic, relapsing form of inflammatory bowel disease marked by severe gastrointestinal inflammation and a broad range of debilitating symptoms. Despite advances in medical treatments, achieving sustained remission remains challenging for many patients. This umbrella review aims to consolidate evidence from various systematic reviews to evaluate the efficacy and safety of stem cell therapies in treating Crohn's disease.

Nontyphoidal Hepatitis: A Rare Complication of a Common Enteric Infection.

Hepatitis from nontyphoidal gastroenteritis is rare, especially in immunocompetent patients. We present the case of a 30-year-old woman who was found to have serotype C2 gastroenteritis and elevated liver function tests concerning for concurrent hepatitis. An extensive workup was negative for other etiologies, making the likely culprit.
