Investigating Child Abuse in Sports: An Ecological Systems Perspective.

Background: This study examines child abuse in sports environments through Ecological Systems Theory, revealing the multifaceted nature of abuse and the impact of environmental factors at various levels.

Methods: With a study design using the phenomenology approach, a qualitative research method, data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews with 11 Turkish participants, including 5 athletes, 4 coaches, and 2 academics with coaching experience in Sports Sciences. Thematic analysis was used to evaluate the data, categorizing findings into four levels: microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, and macrosystem.

Rare association between ankylosing spondylitis and paget's disease: A case of pagetic vertebral ankylosis.

Paget's disease is a condition marked by abnormal bone remodeling, involving both excessive bone formation and destruction, predominantly in the elderly. Pagetic vertebral ankylosis is a rare manifestation, often associated with Paget's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, or diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis. This form of acquired vertebral ankylosis is uncommon and occurs in cases with bone-bridging syndesmophytes or osteophytes.

Objective This study aims to investigate the frequency of restless leg syndrome (RLS) and neuropathic pain (NeP) and their effects on the quality of life (QoL) of patients with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV). Methods The study included 30 patients with AAV and 30 healthy volunteers. Demographic and clinical parameters and laboratory data were recorded.

Development of a superhydrophobic and superoleophilic halloysite nanotube/phenyltriethoxysilane-coated melamine sponge sorbent material with high performance in supercritical CO atmosphere for the selective and effective oil spill cleanup and oil-water separation.

In this study, activated halloysite nanotube (HNT) and phenyltriethoxysilane (PTES) were utilized for the first time to fabricate modified HNT materials and coat them onto melamine sponge (MS) substrate in the supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO) atmosphere. The successful coating of MS substrate was confirmed using SEM, EDS, XPS, and contact angle measurements. The drainage technique applied in the CO medium achieved the uniform coating of both the inner and outer surfaces of the MS.
