Recent studies show that these PQC mechanisms are further modulated by biomolecular condensates that sequester PQC components and compartmentalize reactions. Accumulating evidence points towards the PQC machinery playing a pivotal role in regulating the assembly, disassembly, and viscoelastic properties of several condensates.
