An Aesthetic and Functional Rehabilitation: A Case Study.

This article describes a multidisciplinary approach to a functional and aesthetic rehabilitation. In this case study, we successfully corrected an anterior open bite and an exaggerated curve of Spee using restorative modalities while still maintaining a highly aesthetic outcome. The maxillary anterior teeth no longer appear to have a disproportional width/length ratio and are now in harmony with the mandibular veneers.

Some concerns as to newer products and methods and their effect on the continued success of this modality of treatment are also addressed.

Effect of 2% iodine disinfecting solution on bond strength to dentin.

Introduction: Disinfection of dentin surfaces is desirable so long as it does not interfere with subsequent bonding of adhesive resins.

Objective: To test the null hypothesis that bond strengths to dentin are not affected by previous application of an iodine disinfecting solution.
