The inherent heterogeneity, poor compatibility with polymers, and dark color of lignin limit its application in composites. In this study, original lignin (OL) was fractionated sequentially using four green organic solvents to obtain lignin fractions with different chemical structures. These well-defined lignin fractions were then blended with polybutylene succinate (PBS) to fabricate biocomposites.

Surgical treatment of cholesteatoma requires a highly individualized approach, balancing disease eradication with hearing preservation, and necessitates thorough patient counseling on expected auditory outcomes and options for rehabilitation. The choice between canal wall up and canal wall down mastoidectomy can influence hearing outcomes. Hearing rehabilitation options following cholesteatoma surgery include air- and bone-conduction devices and are individualized for the patient.

Here, we offer thoughts concerning a 'zero residual nanoadsorbent toxicity' environmental policy which we strongly advocate. Our discussions in support of this policy are based on the adage 'Prevention is better than cure'. Besides emphasizing the need for strict regulations (regional and international), research and development avenues are highlighted for the technology that can achieve 'zero tolerance' for residual nanoadsorbent levels escaping and building up in receiving ecosystems.
