Diagnosis and management of ulnar nerve entrapment.

Ulnar nerve entrapment can be divided into compression at the elbow and the wrist. Etiologies range from direct trauma to metabolic derangements. Guidelines for diagnosis at each site have been presented.

Long-term effect of retrobulbar hematomas on the vision of cynomolgus monkeys.

Using the monkey model previously developed, we investigated the long-term effects of retrobulbar hematoma-induced retinal ischemia on functional vision and retinal histology. In this experimental model, ischemic periods of up to 120 minutes did not cause permanent visual deficits, as measured by flashed evoked visual potentials. Similarly, retinal histology showed no evidence of ischemic injury.

Fascicular topography of the median nerve: a computer based study to identify branching patterns.

This study was undertaken to definitively describe the internal anatomy of the median nerve. Thirty median nerves were dissected in the distal forearm and hand. Sixteen nerves were sectioned every 250 to 1000 microns along their length.

Surgical management of palmar hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis is an idiopathic pathologic condition characterized by excessive sweating beyond that required to cool the body. Disturbance of the central nervous system, endocrine system, or obesity has been associated with this condition. Patients have a history of several years of occupational or social embarrassment.
