Deployment of a transportable Yb optical lattice clock.

We report on the first deployment of a ytterbium (Yb) transportable optical lattice clock (TOLC), commercially shipping the clock 3000 km from Boulder, Colorado, to Washington DC. The system, composed of a rigidly mounted optical reference cavity, an atomic physics package, and an optical frequency comb, fully realizes an independent frequency standard for comparisons in the optical and microwave domains. The shipped Yb TOLC was fully operational within 2 days of arrival, enabling frequency comparison with a rubidium (Rb) fountain at the United States Naval Observatory (USNO).

Type-II multiferroicity from non-collinear spin order is recently explored in the van der Waals material NiI. Despite the importance for improper ferroelectricity, the microscopic mechanism of the helimagnetic order remains poorly understood. Here, the magneto-structural phases of NiI are investigated using resonant magnetic X-ray scattering (RXS) and X-ray diffraction.

Culturally safe physiotherapy care: how this looks and feels for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Background Understanding the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as healthcare recipients is essential for delivering culturally safe physiotherapy care; however, the literature inadequately explores these experiences. This study aimed to explore the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have engaged with physiotherapists and understand their perspectives on how physiotherapists can provide culturally safe care in the community. Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with adult (aged >18years) self-identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (n =12) who had received physiotherapy care within a community setting within the previous 3months.

Double-strand breaks (DSBs) can initiate mitotic catastrophe, a complex oncosuppressive phenomenon characterized by cell death during or after cell division. Here we unveil how cell cycle-regulated DSB repair guides disparate cell death outcomes through single-cell analysis of extended live imaging. Following DSB induction in S or G2, passage of unresolved homologous recombination intermediates into mitosis promotes non-immunogenic intrinsic apoptosis in the immediate attempt at cell division.

Inpatient service utilization amongst infants diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus infection (RSV) in the United States.

Introduction: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the leading cause of hospitalization among US infants. Characterizing service utilization during infant RSV hospitalizations may provide important information for prioritizing resources and interventions.

Objective: The objective of this study was to describe the procedures and services received by infants hospitalized during their first RSV episode in their first RSV season, in addition to what proportion of infants died during this hospitalization.
