Solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) is the prevailing method for synthesizing research peptides today. However, SPPS is associated with a significant environmental concern due to the utilization of hazardous solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) or N-methylpyrrolidone, which generate substantial waste.
