Background: Physical activity (PA) is an important preventive factor of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly cardiovascular disease, yet progress towards reducing physical inactivity in populations is slow. Population-levels of PA are most often estimated using self-report questionnaires in population surveys, such as the Global PA Questionnaire (GPAQ), which may not accurately reflect objectively measured PA, such as accelerometers. The aim of the current study was to compare self-report vs objectively measured PA across 5 African-origin populations.

Objective: To measure the predictive value of three perioperative risk assessment tools (National Surgical Quality Improvement Program-NSQIP, Modified 5-factor Frailty Index-mFI-5, and Score for Trauma Triage in Geriatric and Middle Aged-STTGMA) in predicting postoperative complications in older adult ankle fractures.
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study of surgically treated isolated older adult ankle fractures at an academic center between 2007 and 2022. Exclusion criteria included age < 55 years, presence of pathologic fractures, and having multiple orthopaedic injuries.
Where adopted, Autonomous artificial Intelligence (AI) for Diabetic Retinal Disease (DRD) resolves longstanding racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities, but AI adoption bias persists. This preregistered trial determined sensitivity and specificity of a previously FDA authorized AI, improved to compensate for lower contrast and smaller imaged area of a widely adopted, lower cost, handheld fundus camera (RetinaVue700, Baxter Healthcare, Deerfield, IL) to identify DRD in participants with diabetes without known DRD, in primary care. In 626 participants (1252 eyes) 50.

Material And Methods: The study was performed on six male pigs (38.4 ± 1.
Purpose: Entrustable professional activities (EPAs) are used to support clinical skills training by providing a scaffold for practice and feedback. The aim of this study was to evaluate how written feedback provided for EPAs supports medical students' learning.
Materials And Methods: The written feedback for two EPAs (admit or consult patient and discharge summary) was analysed using a mixed methods approach.
