Versatility of composite grafts for nasal defects - a case series.

This retrospective study describes the reconstruction of 18 nasal defects with chondrocutaneous (composite) grafts. Composite grafts are versatile one-stage options for defects ≤2.5 cm at the lower third of the nose and are particularly useful in reconstruction of small full-thickness defects and superficial defects bordering or involving the alar rim.

The testicular function of men previously operated for hypospadias has been sparsely investigated. Therefore, we investigated semen quality and reproductive hormones of 92 men with isolated hypospadias (IH) and 20 with hypospadias and additional genital disorders (HAGD) and compared with similar results from young men from the general Danish population. All participants lived the Copenhagen area of Denmark.

A novel mutation in IRF6 resulting in VWS-PPS spectrum disorder with renal aplasia.

Popliteal pterygium syndrome (PPS) and Van der Woude syndrome (VWS) are caused by mutations in the gene interferon regulatory factor 6 (IRF6). Skeletal, genital malformations and involvement of the skin occur in PPS and orofacial clefting and lip pits occur in both. We report on a patient with unilateral cleft lip and palate, ankyloblepharon, paramedian lip pits, unilateral renal aplasia, and a coronal hypospadias.
