Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria is a form of acquired hemolytic anemia with a high incidence of thrombotic complications, generally in the venous district; arterial thrombosis is rare, and exceptional in the coronary tree. We describe the case of a man who had two episodes of myocardial infarction, both during a hemoglobinuric crisis; this patient was free from cardiovascular risk factors and angiography revealed that there was no coronary stenosis. The clinical course was favorable and the patient's response to thrombolytic and dicumarol therapy was satisfactory.

A series of 140 patients admitted to an Internal Medicine or a Cardiology Department for an acute chest pain is examined in order to evaluate the possibility of reaching a quick diagnosis, particularly for coronaric heart diseases, according with history, physical examination, electrocardiogram. In most of cases it was possible an immediate, correct evaluation of the patients, but in some cases a right diagnosis was achieved only after a period of observation and different investigations.

Our study is aimed to evaluate the change of QT/QS2 ratio in normal subjects during both isometric and dynamic exercise before and after propranolol administration. We studied 10 young volunteers healthy subjects who performed an isometric exercise by squeezing a grip dynamometer at 70% of their maximal voluntary contraction as long as possible. They also performed a dynamic exercise undergoing a submaximal bicycle stress test.
