Objective: To provide an overview of the types of wound debridement and update the available scientific consensus on the effect of wound debridement.

Methods: The articles were searched through CINAHL, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Medline database for relevant articles on all types of wound debridement. Articles included were all systematic review on the effectiveness of wound debridement-related outcome, published within the year 2017 until Aug 2021, in English.

Advance care planning (ACP) provides access to complete advance decisions (ADs). Despite the legalization of ACP in Taiwan, it is underutilized in community settings. The objective of this study is to describe the service at a community hospital in Southern Taiwan.

The structure of the PA28-20S proteasome complex from Plasmodium falciparum and implications for proteostasis.

The activity of the proteasome 20S catalytic core is regulated by protein complexes that bind to one or both ends. The PA28 regulator stimulates 20S proteasome peptidase activity in vitro, but its role in vivo remains unclear. Here, we show that genetic deletion of the PA28 regulator from Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) renders malaria parasites more sensitive to the antimalarial drug dihydroartemisinin, indicating that PA28 may play a role in protection against proteotoxic stress.

Target Validation and Identification of Novel Boronate Inhibitors of the Plasmodium falciparum Proteasome.

The Plasmodium proteasome represents a potential antimalarial drug target for compounds with activity against multiple life cycle stages. We screened a library of human proteasome inhibitors (peptidyl boronic acids) and compared activities against purified P. falciparum and human 20S proteasomes.

Co-inhibition of immunoproteasome subunits LMP2 and LMP7 is required to block autoimmunity.

Cells of hematopoietic origin express high levels of the immunoproteasome, a cytokine-inducible proteasome variant comprising the proteolytic subunits LMP2 (β1i), MECL-1 (β2i), and LMP7 (β5i). Targeting the immunoproteasome in pre-clinical models of autoimmune diseases with the epoxyketone inhibitor ONX 0914 has proven to be effective. ONX 0914 was previously described as a selective LMP7 inhibitor.
