Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) are increasingly used for prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic events. Incorrectly dosed DOAC treatment is associated with excess mortality.

Purpose: This article aims at raising awareness of DOAC overdosing and its causes as well as presenting a diagnostic and therapeutic work-up.

Although-considering the risk-benefit ratio-botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT/A) is unequivocally recommended to treat severe neurological diseases such as dystonia, this has not yet been determined for its endoscopic intragastric injection aimed at weight reduction in obesity. However, severe adverse effects of intragastric BoNT/A had not yet been reported, prompting some European countries to endorse its (off-label) use and treat patients transnationally. We here present three cases of botulism after intragastric BoNT/A injections for obesity treatment in a Turkish hospital.

Background: Previous research has found a relationship between students' gender and attitudes surrounding peer physical examination, but relationship between patient gender and confidence/comfort is less clear. We explored whether patient gender affects medical students' levels of confidence and comfort in clinical examination skills.
