Consequences of Historical Exam Access versus Timely Exam feedback on knowledge Retention (CHEATER).

Objective: To compare the impact of examination feedback versus access to historical examination questions on information retention.

Methods: First-year student-pharmacists completed a baseline knowledge assessment composed of 30 examination questions divided into three conditions of 10 questions each. In the CHEAT condition, students were provided with 10 questions and their correct answers ahead of time.

Comparing the technical quality and clinical outcomes of root canal treatment on immature permanent incisors in children: a retrospective evaluation of three bioceramic plug materials.

Purpose: To assess the technical quality and clinical outcomes of non-surgical endodontic treatment of immature permanent incisor teeth with three different bioceramic plug materials and highlight variables which may influence treatment and quality outcomes.

Methods: This cross-sectional analysis forms part of a retrospective service evaluation of the technical quality and clinical outcome of orthograde root canal treatment carried out in the Paediatric Dentistry Department of Charles Clifford Dental Hospital (United Kingdom). Twenty-five cases were identified chronologically, using the electronic patient record system, for three bioceramic plug materials: Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), Biodentine, and TotalFill Putty.

Clinical supervisor's experiences of peer group clinical supervision during COVID-19: a mixed methods study.

Background: Providing positive and supportive environments for nurses and midwives working in ever-changing and complex healthcare services is paramount. Clinical supervision is one approach that nurtures and supports professional guidance, ethical practice, and personal development, which impacts positively on staff morale and standards of care delivery. In the context of this study, peer group clinical supervision provides allocated time to reflect and discuss care provided and facilitated by clinical supervisors who are at the same grade/level as the supervisees.

Virtual parental presence with coaching for reducing preoperative anxiety in children: a feasibility and pilot randomized controlled trial.

Background: Preoperative anxiety in children causes negative postoperative outcomes. Parental presence at induction is a non-pharmacological strategy for relieving anxiety; nevertheless, it is not always possible or effective, namely when parents are overly anxious. Parental presence via video has been demonstrated to be useful in other contexts (divorce, criminal court).

Does dental rehabilitation under general anaesthetic contribute to the development of temporomandibular disorders in children and adolescents? A scoping review.

Background: Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) have multiple aetiological factors. Although some evidence suggests invasive and lengthy dental procedures may contribute towards TMD development, there is a relative paucity in the literature regarding an association between elements of paediatric dental general anaesthesia (pDGA) and TMDs. This review aims to consider the impact of dental rehabilitation (and its constituent elements) performed under general anaesthesia on the development of TMDs in childhood and adolescence and identify theories and/or gaps in knowledge which may benefit from future research.
