The effects of a dietary probiotic mixture containing Lactococcus (Lc.) lactis BFE920 isolated from bean sprout and autochthonous Lactobacillus (Lb.) plantarum FGL0001 originally isolated from the hindgut of olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) were investigated for the purpose of improving the probiotic effects of Lc.

But, the routine use of IOC remains controversial. With routine IOC during LC, we reviewed the variation of hepatic duct confluence and try to suggest the diagnostic criteria of asymptomatic common bile duct (CBD) stone.

In some secretory cells, LDCVs show activity-dependent potentiation (ADP), which represents enhancement of subsequent exocytosis, compared with the previous one. Here we report the signaling mechanism involved in ADP of LDCV release.

To examine whether leptin synthesis and lipolysis are influenced by P2 purinergic receptor activation, the effects of ATP and other nucleotides on leptin secretion and glycerol release have been investigated in differentiated rat white adipocytes. Firstly, insulin-induced leptin secretion was inhibited by nucleotide treatment with the following efficacy order: 3'-O-(4-benzoyl)benzoyl ATP (BzATP) > ATP >> UTP.

Cimicifugoside inhibited calcium increase induced by 1,1-dimethyl-4-phenylpiperazinium iodide (DMPP), a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) agonist in bovine adrenal chromaffin cells with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC(50)) of 18 +/- 2 microM. In contrast, cimicifugoside did not affect the calcium increases evoked by high K(+), veratridine, and bradykinin.
