Background: Pain reduction, immunomodulation, and cartilage repair are key therapeutic goals in osteoarthritis (OA) treatment. In this study, we evaluated the therapeutic effects of porcine cartilage acellularized matrix (pCAM) derived from naive tissue and compared it with the synthetic material polynucleotides (PN) for OA treatment.
Methods: pCAM was produced from porcine cartilage through physicochemical processing.
Purpose: We assessed the proportion of patients with a focal intrahepatic stricture (FIHS) that was a precursor lesion or malignancy and visualized only as a duct dilatation.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study assessed patients who underwent surgery or biopsy for an FIHS on CT or MRI between January 2010 and March 2022. The number and proportion of non-precursor benign lesions, precursors, and malignancies were calculated.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) possess the characteristics of their parent cells, based on which various studies have actively investigated treatments for diseases using mesenchymal stem cell-derived EVs due to their regenerative activity. Furthermore, in recent years, there have been significant efforts to engineer EVs to improve their native activities and integrate additional functions. Although both endogenous and exogenous methods are used for engineering EVs, endogenous methods may pose the problem of administering substances to cells undergoing metabolic changes, which can cause potential side effects.

The precise causative effect of iodinated contrast media on CI-AKI and its relevant risk factors remains an area of ongoing investigation. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the risk of CI-AKI following contrast-enhanced CT and its predisposing risk factors.

This study examines the impact of accountability arrangements in the form of performance feedback on organizational behaviors among healthcare organizations. Specifically, it evaluates the effectiveness of a performance management program implemented in South Korean healthcare settings, focusing on antibiotic prescription patterns. The study presents three key findings.

Based on the characteristics of these EVs, various studies on disease treatment using mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived EVs with regenerative activity have been actively conducted. The therapeutic nature of MSC-derived EVs has been shown in several studies, but in recent years, there have been many efforts to functionalize EVs to give them more potent therapeutic effects.

Background: Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody (MOG) immunoglobulin G (IgG)-associated disease (MOGAD) has clinical and pathophysiological features that are similar to but distinct from those of aquaporin-4 antibody (AQP4-IgG)-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (AQP4-NMOSD). MOG-IgG and AQP4-IgG, mostly of the IgG1 subtype, can both activate the complement system. Therefore, we investigated whether the levels of serum complement components, regulators, and activation products differ between MOGAD and AQP4-NMOSD, and if complement analytes can be utilized to differentiate between these diseases.

The percentages of CMC and ZnO NS were varied in the CAP hydrogel films and then they were investigated by different techniques, such as ATR/FTIR, TGA, XRD, XPS, and FE-SEM analysis. Furthermore, the mechanical properties, hydrophilicity, swelling, porosity, and antibacterial activity of the CAP@ZnO TNCHs were studied.

It included 25 pwNID with conditions such as optic neuritis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and polymyositis, as well as 56 healthy controls. All participants had completed their full SARS-CoV-2 vaccination schedule, and their blood samples were collected within six months of their last dose.

Therefore, our study sought to assess the feasibility of deriving MSCs from teratomas generated from human iPSCs. Teratomas serve as a model to mimic multilineage human development, thus enriching specific somatic progenitors and stem cells.

In most cases, interference fringes cannot be obtained from a film within a practical angular range unless it is much thicker than the wavelength. This problem was solved by adopting a high-index material as the medium of incidence, in which case several cycles of interference fringes were observed within a small range of incidence angles near the critical angle, allowing a fringe analysis.

While vaccine hesitancy in the context of the initial COVID-19 vaccinations has been extensively studied, less is known about hesitancy around boosters in the post-pandemic era, where the immediate threat of COVID-19 has diminished.
Methods: Using 5,584 survey responses from people who had received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose based on a four-round survey between May and November 2022, we examined various factors that affect booster vaccine uptake and the willingness to take an additional shot.

Background: Serum levels of neurofilament light chain (NfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) reflect the disease activity and disability in central nervous system (CNS) demyelinating diseases. However, the clinical significance of NfL and GFAP in idiopathic transverse myelitis (iTM), an inflammatory spinal cord disease with unknown underlying causes, remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate NfL and GFAP levels in iTM and their association with the clinical parameters compared with those in TM with disease-specific antibodies such as anti-aquaporin 4 or myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibodies (sTM).

Establishing MOG-Ab assays is essential for effectively treating patients with MOG-Abs. We established an in-house cell-based assay (CBA) to detect MOG-Abs to identify correlations with patients' clinical characteristics.

This study aimed to evaluate whether endometriosis is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes after successful conception. Data from singleton pregnancy deliveries between January 2014 and October 2019 were obtained from the Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service database.
