In this research was light up the high clinical effectivity of the diltiazem in patient with arterial hypertension, connected with ischemic heart disease. Monotherapy with the diltiazem had not influenced on the contractive quality of the left ventricle. This research highlights high clinical affectivity of Amlodipine in patients with essential hypertension complicated by ishemic heart disease. Monotherapy with Amlodipine doesn't deteriorate contractive quality of the left ventricle. Therapy with Amlodipine considerably improves the diastolic function of the left ventricle and adjusts it.

As many as 314 patients with functional class I-III ischemic heart disease (IHD) who had been placed on a long-term (3-year) monotherapy with propranolol were examined. Under a long-term administration of a beta-adrenoblocking agent no suppression has been seen of the contractile capability of the myocardium; there is noted an improvement in hemorheologic disturbances and a significantly greater improvement in the clinical course of the illness--it has been found out the therapy prevents transformation of angina of high effort to angina of low effort.

The results of conservative treatment of 246 cases of small-cell cancer of the lung at The All-Union Center for Oncology Research of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1974-1982) are discussed. Survival for two years was registered in 45 cases (18%), 2.5 years--10% and three years--in 7%.
