Objective: This study examined the associations between public health engagement (PHE) in school-based substance use prevention programs and student substance use. For the purposes of this study, PHE refers to any form of collaboration between the local government public health agency and the school to promote the physical and mental health of students.

Methods: Data for this study were collected from the Cannabis, Obesity, Mental health, Physical activity, Alcohol use, Smoking and Sedentary behaviour (COMPASS) study during the 2018/2019 data collection year.

Monkeypox has devastated the world; should we prepare for the outbreak of a new pandemic?

The monkeypox virus, which belongs to the orthopoxy virus family, causes fever, lethargy, headache, lymphadenopathy, myalgia, and rash, as well as various complications such as superimposed infections, sepsis, keratitis, encephalitis, and bronchopneumonia. Following replication at the site of injection, the virus often enters by the oropharynx, nasopharynx, or intradermal pathway, spreading to lymph nodes before viremia, promoting viral dissemination to other organ systems. Monkeypox cases have recently been brought to WHO's notice from 12 presently non-endemic member nations spread over three WHO regions, with 92 laboratory-confirmed cases and 28 cases of suspicion as of May 21, 2022.

Associations of Use of Social Media and Psychopathology and Body Image in Pre- and Post-surgical Bariatric Samples: a Cross-sectional Analysis.

Purpose: Interest has grown regarding the impact of social media platforms on mental health including body image and internalized weight bias (IWB) in those who have struggled with weight issues. However, few studies have addressed social media usage in bariatric patient samples. The objective of this study was to understand how the amount of time spent on social media could serve as a predictor for IWB in both pre- and post-operative bariatric patients.

The ultimate goal of this research was to produce a cold galvanizing compound (CGC) at reduced pigment volume concentration (PVC) to protect metallic structures from corrosion attacks. The influence of partial replacement of Zn by nanolayered graphene (NGr) and red iron oxide (FeO) nanoparticles on the electrochemical, morphological, rheological, and mechanical properties of CGCs was investigated. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was used to investigate the electrochemical nature of coatings.

Effects of aerobic exercise and progressive muscle relaxation on migraine.

Objective: To determine the effect of aerobic exercises and progressive muscle relaxation in migraine patients.

Methods: The quasi-experimental study was conducted at the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nayhan Hospital / Combined Military Hospital, Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, from February to July 2017, and comprised migraine patients of either gender aged 20-50 years. They were divided into experimental and control group.

The study investigates the short-term side effects following the administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines in Saudi Arabia.

The sol−gel dip-coating method is a cost-efficient way for the realization of thin films on a planar substrate. In this work, high-quality, low-loss, and low-surface roughness silica−titania thin films are deposited on a glass substrate with the sol−gel dip-coating method. This platform works in the visible to near-IR wavelength ranges and can be useful for several eye-catching photonic components.

Objective: We aimed to assess the analgesic efficacy of a combination of oral VTS-Aspirin® (Vitalis Analgesics, New York, NY) and ketamine in managing acute MSK pain in adult ED patients.

Methods: This was a prospective, proof-of-concept, single-arm, pilot study evaluating the analgesic efficacy of a single dose of oral combination of VTS-Aspirin and ketamine in adult ED patients with acute moderate-to-severe MSK pain.

Synthesis of Chemically Cross-Linked pH-Sensitive Hydrogels for the Sustained Delivery of Ezetimibe.

In recent years, pH-sensitive hydrogels have been developed for the delivery of therapeutic agents to specific target sites that have a defined pH range. The use of pH-responsive polymers in hydrogels allows drug delivery to the desired pH range of the target organ. The primary aim is to increase the retention time of the drug in the small intestine by utilizing the swelling mechanism of the hydrogel at intestinal pH.
