There is tremendous need for brief and supported, non-commercial youth- and caregiver-report questionnaires of youth anxiety. The pediatric and parent proxy short forms of the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) Anxiety scale (8a v2.0) are free, brief, publicly accessible measures of youth- and caregiver-reported anxiety in children and adolescents.

Methods: To characterise the influence of mechanical ventilation on the behaviour of lung tumours, invasiveness assays and transcriptomic analyses were performed in cancer cell lines cultured in static conditions or under cyclic stretch.
Objective: To identify clinical and radiological factors associated to early evolution to brain death (BD), defined as occurring within the first 24 h.
Design: A retrospective cohort study was made covering the period 2015-2017.
Setting: An adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Background: Cardiogenic pulmonary oedema (CPE) may contribute to ventilator-associated lung injury (VALI) in patients with cardiogenic shock. The appropriate ventilatory strategy remains unclear. We aimed to evaluate the impact of ultra-low tidal volume ventilation with tidal volume of 3 ml/kg predicted body weight (PBW) in patients with CPE and veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-A ECMO) on lung inflammation compared to conventional ventilation.

The present waitlist-controlled trial examined the preliminary efficacy of a family-based behavioral parenting intervention (i.e.

Design: A retrospective cohort study was made covering the period 2015-2017.
Setting: An adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Background: Intensive care unit (ICU) environment disrupts the circadian rhythms due to environmental and other nonphotic synchronizers. The main purpose of this article is to establish whether critically patients have desynchronization at the molecular level after 1 week of stay in the ICU.
Methods: The rhythm of Clock, Bmal1, Cry1, and Per2 genes in neuro-ICU patients (n = 11) on the first day after admission in the unit (1 day) and 1 week later (1 week) was studied, 4 time points throughout the day, at 6, 12, 18, and 24 hours.
Objective: Very few controlled trials have evaluated targeted treatment methods for childhood selective mutism (SM); the availability of evidence-based services remains limited. This study is the first controlled trial to evaluate an intensive group behavioral treatment (IGBT) for children with SM.
Method: Twenty-nine children with SM (5-9 years; 76% female; 35% ethnic minority) were randomized to immediate SM 5-day IGBT or to a 4-week waitlist with psychoeducational resources (WLP), and were assessed at Week 4 and again 8 weeks into the following school year.
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is still related to high mortality and morbidity rates. Most patients with ARDS will require ventilatory support. This treatment has a direct impact upon patient outcome and is associated to major side effects.

A systematic literature search of language adaptation of interventions highlighted most published research focuses on the translation of assessment tools rather than interventions. In response, we developed the Participatory and Iterative Process Framework for Language Adaptation (PIPFLA), a descriptive step-by-step example of how to conduct the language adaptation of an intervention that is grounded in principles of good practice and facilitates transparency of the process.

Design: Descriptive, multicentre study.

Bacteremia continues to be one of the main causes of mortality despite the existence of numerous antimicrobial agents and an increase in means of support. A variety of factors, such as the type of microorganism, age, the underlying disease and where the bacteremia was acquired, can change the prognosis of the infection. The aim of this study was to analyze the cases of community-acquired bacteremia gathered prospectively from the Basurto hospital in Bilbao, Spain.
