Characteristics, management, and outcomes of patients with lung cancer admitted to a tertiary care intensive care unit over more than 20 years.

Rationale: The prognosis of patients with lung cancer admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) is often perceived as poor. We described the characteristics, management, and outcomes of critically ill patients with lung cancer and determined the predictors of mortality.

Methods: We retrospectively studied patients with lung cancer who were admitted to the ICU of a tertiary care hospital between 1999 and 2021 for the reasons other than routine postoperative care.

Objectives: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system (CNS). Several factors, including sex, body mass index (BMI), disease duration, and age of onset, have been identified as predictors of disease severity. This study investigated the association between the aforementioned factors and MS severity, measured by the number of hospital visits and admissions, length of stay, and frequency of methylprednisolone use.
