Successful Treatment of Refractory Trichodynia With Onabotulinumtoxin-A.

Trichodynia is a common symptom, which is characterized by a painful, burning or stinging sensation of the scalp, often in patients presenting with hair loss. It is typically associated with co-morbid psychiatric conditions and remains challenging to treat, with no Food and Drug Administration (FDA) treatments currently available. We herein report the successful use of off-label onabotulinumtoxin-A in treating a patient with trichodynia who has failed conventional therapies.

Clinicopathological Profile of Dermatitis Herpetiformis Patients in Saudi Arabia.

Objectives The aim of this study was to describe the clinical, serological, and histopathological features of patients with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) in Saudi Arabia. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical charts of all patients diagnosed with DH in the dermatology departments of National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) hospitals in five different cities, from 2016 to 2022. We included patients who had been diagnosed by a dermatologist and had a combination of typical DH skin lesions, positive immunoglobulin A (IgA) on direct immunofluorescence (DIF), and/or positive tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA.

Physician Attitude toward Their Attires and Laundering Habit Changes during the COVID-19: A Cross-Sectional Survey in a Tertiary Care Center.

 Patient safety is of utmost importance and every effort is to be made to reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infection. Contaminated attire is proposed as a mode of hospital infections spread. This study aims to assess the laundering habits, the perception of healthcare workers toward the contamination of their attire, and the effect of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on their cleaning practices in non-operative settings.

Epidemiology and factors associated with all-terrain vehicle accidents in children: A retrospective cross-sectional study of a trauma registry in Saudi Arabia.

Background: All-terrain vehicle (ATV) accidents have a substantial impact on the pediatric population in Saudi Arabia; however, few local studies are available. An in-depth study of this issue and adequate implementation of regulations are required to prevent additional casualties. The aim of this study was to describe the epidemiology of ATV injuries in the pediatric population and the outcomes associated with the injuries.
