SummaryWe describe a case of culture-negative infective endocarditis due to , where the application of metagenomics shotgun sequencing in blood played a pivotal role in elucidating the underlying aetiology, guiding targeted therapy and ultimately resulting in the patient's complete recovery. Beyond its immediate clinical impact, prompt treatment bears significant implications for public health. The utilisation of molecular testing emerges as a valuable strategy to enhance diagnostic accuracy, particularly in cases involving fastidious organisms that are infrequently associated with infective endocarditis.

From a Self Determination Theory perspective, this study explored the connections between parents' sexual passion and children's sexual passion, and whether these links were mediated by parents' communication about sexuality with their children. Using a diverse sample of 484 mother-adolescent dyads (M = 14.

A number of natural language processing (NLP) tools have been developed to aid with this time-consuming task; however, the generalizability of these tools is typically limited by the need for task-specific training.
Objective: To describe the development and validation of a zero-shot learning NLP tool to facilitate data abstraction from unstructured text for use in downstream urologic research.
There is scarce empirical evidence examining whether sexual initiation and power are associated with each other. Utilizing latent profile analyses, we examined in a nationally representative sample of US newlywed heterosexual couples (N = 1,948 couples) whether wives' and husbands' sexual initiation patterns and satisfaction with these patterns were associated with membership in different profiles of wives' and husbands' perceptions of shared relational power while accounting for both partner's satisfaction with sexual frequency. We found four profiles of wives' and husbands' perceptions of power.

Using three national samples to analyze a structural equation model, the results verified this assumption with some adaptations. There was an interaction between the association of sexual quality and the overall relationship depending on how sexually satisfied couples were in the sexuality area.

Materials And Methods: We performed a comprehensive literature search in September 2022. Studies were evaluated according to a predefined and registered plan in PROSPERO (CRD42022302777).
Robot-assisted repair of benign ureteroenteric anastomotic strictures (UAS) provides an alternative to the open approach. We aimed to report short-, medium-, and long-term outcomes for robotic repair of benign UAS, and to provide a detailed video demonstration of critical operative techniques in performing this procedure robotically. Between January 2013 and September 2022, 31 patients from seven institutions who previously underwent radical cystectomy and subsequently developed UAS underwent robotic repair of UAS.

Consequently, using the sexual wholeness model, we analyzed how couples' specific sexual beliefs (growth and destiny) influenced their sexual mindfulness, communication, and functioning within their couple relationships and how each of these variables influenced sexual satisfaction and harmonious sexual passion. Using a national sample of dyadic data from 964 sexually active individuals (482 heterosexual couples) who had been in a committed relationship for at least 2 years, we evaluated an actor/partner structural equation model with distinguishable dyads.

Materials And Methods: After obtaining hospital Institutional Review Board approval, a 14-question survey in English and Spanish was administered across four general urology clinic sites in a single hospital system in New York City. The survey asked demographic questions and preference for a male or a female urologist.
The current study was designed to examine the role of sense of community at the outset of COVID-19 pandemic-related shutdowns as a longitudinal predictor of anxiety in couples. We also sought to investigate whether self-reported changes in perceived levels of benevolent world assumptions would serve as an indirect conveyor of this association. Data were collected at three time points during the first 6-months of pandemic shutdowns in the US and the current study utilized responses from 535 heterosexual cisgender couples.

Artificial intelligence (AI) derived models have been created to address the challenges posed by pathologists' increasing workload, workforce shortages, and variability in histopathology assessment. These models with histopathological parameters integrated into sophisticated neural networks demonstrate remarkable ability to identify, grade, and predict outcomes for PCa.

Patients with large median lobes often have larger prostates, which makes it difficult to visualize anatomical planes during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). Herein, we described our experience in dealing with large median lobes during RARP.

This study examined a broad scope of sexuality encompassing physical, emotional, and meaning aspects of sex, or sexual wholeness. Sexual wholeness is grounded in the idea that a self-determined sexual relationship in which three innate human needs (autonomy, competence, and relatedness) are met is more likely to promote sexual well-being.

This study presented the design of the Loss in Connection with Catastrophes Scale (LICCS). Information regarding reliability and validity were presented, alongside the potential uses of this instrument in research and clinical settings. Furthermore, the importance of attending to couple and family relationships in disaster studies was proposed, and preliminary dyadic findings examining the LICCS with a sample of heterosexual couples (N = 240) as a correlate of mental and relational well-being were set forth.
