CAR T-cell therapy has transformed relapsed/refractory (r/r) B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL) management and outcomes, but following CAR T infusion, interventions are often needed. In a UK multicentre study, we retrospectively evaluated tisagenlecleucel outcomes in all eligible patients, analysing overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) with standard and stringent definitions, the latter including measurable residual disease (MRD) emergence and further anti-leukaemic therapy. Both intention-to-treat and infused cohorts were considered.

In dynamic social environments as found in almost all species, including humans, multiple individuals may play a pivotal role in any given interaction where a male's attention may be divided between a rival, a current mate, and/or future potential mates. Although clearly important, the role of the social environment on attention in animals is not well understood.

CVD is preventable and treatable, though barriers to interventions exist for people experiencing homelessness. Those with lived experience of homelessness and health professionals with relevant expertise can help to understand and address these barriers.

The combination of a growing and ageing population, lost operating time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and geographical disparities, is driving up an unmet demand for cataract surgery. We present several evidence-based strategies with overlapping benefits in access, equity, efficiency and sustainability.

Rates however stayed much lower than expected throughout 2020; an experience that compares to other settings globally. This study sought a community level perspective to explore this rate of infections, and through this explore relationships between COVID-19 and existing health inequalities.

Involving members of the public in research is becoming increasingly commonplace, in the UK and internationally. It is essential that public involvement is inclusive of individuals and their diverse life experiences, including challenging experiences that may be associated with stigma and social exclusion.

However, current evidence suggests that medical graduates are not prepared for this. We aimed to explore junior doctors' first experiences with unwell patients and how they developed preparedness over time.

This cross-sectional survey aimed to measure the proportion of homeless people visited by an NHS outreach service (Find and Treat) who were eligible for and had received vaccination during 2011/12.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out in 27 separate homeless hostels, day centres and drug services in London between July and August in 2012.
Seven members of the human 3beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3beta-HSD) gene family (HGMW-approved symbols HSD3BP1-HSD3BP5) have been cloned and physically mapped. HSD3B1 and 2 express 3beta-HSD enzymes; HSD3Bpsi1-5 are unprocessed pseudogenes that are closely related to HSD3B1 and 2 but contain no corresponding open reading frames. mRNA is expressed from psi4 and psi5 in several tissues, but with altered splice sites that disrupt reading frames.

Two experimental approaches were adopted to estimate the size of the 3 beta-HSD gene family. Firstly, primer designed to amplify 3 beta-HSD type I and II genes were found on occasion to amplify DNA products of appropriate length but which were resolved as distinct sequences by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE).

We have studied a shorter, 7-day course of treatment to assess efficacy and tolerability.
Methods: Four hundred and thirty-six patients, in three non-randomized groups, received omeprazole (40 mg mane), amoxycillin (500 mg t.
