Purpose: To assess immunogenic effects in unembolized contralateral tumor after single lobar yttrium-90 transarterial radioembolization (Y-TARE) of colorectal liver metastases (CRLMs).
Material And Methods: The analysis comprised 10 patients with microsatellite stable (MSS) CRLM scheduled for staged treatment in the prospective AROMA trial. Eligibility criteria included bilobar metastatic disease with >5 lesions without any treatment within 3 weeks.
Background: Assessing the issues surrounding predictive genetic testing for children at risk of an inherited arrhythmia or cardiomyopathy is complex. The objective of this study was to design and evaluate 4 cardiac decision aids. The decision aids were developed to assist families with a genetic diagnosis of long QT syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, or arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy in deciding between predictive genetic testing and cardiac screening for their children.

Two experiments investigated how kit variations affect the search of teammates. Experiment 1 confirmed that discriminability is slower when playing in crossed kits (e.g.

Several countries have issued practice recommendations in that context. This review is a collaboration of the YO-IFOS (Young Otolaryngologists of the International Federation of Otolaryngological Societies) group in order to summarize, in a systematic way, all available guidelines and provide clear guidelines for the management of head and neck cancer patients in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: It has become clear that healthcare workers are at high risk, and otolaryngology has been theorized to be among the highest risk specialties for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The purpose of this study was to detail the international impact of COVID-19 among otolaryngologists, and to identify instructional cases.
Methods: Country representatives of the Young Otolaryngologists-International Federation of Otolaryngologic Societies (YO-IFOS) surveyed otolaryngologists through various channels.
In this case report we describe an aggressive primary ethmoid squamous cell carcinoma in an unusually young patient.

Introduction: Cleft lip with or without palate (CLP) can be diagnosed antenatally through ultrasound, and may be categorised as apparently isolated versus associated with other malformations. Limited data exist on the long-term outcomes following antenatal diagnosis of apparently isolated CLP.
Aim: This study examined the long-term post-natal outcomes of CLP when found in isolation antenatally, in order to determine the rates of unexpected additional anomalies, developmental delay or genetic syndromes.
Background: Emergency Department (ED) overcrowding and ensuing concern about patients who leave without treatment have become a mounting national concern. In addition, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services released regulatory standards for EDs requiring reporting of time from initial triage to decision to admit, as well as actual time of admission.
Objectives: To implement an improved ED patient flow process.
The purpose of this project was to translate safety concerns extracted from written survey comments into actionable items. This project then served as the catalyst for resolving a number of significant safety issues in a performance improvement model and helped to create a reliable and efficient process for future thematic reviews.

Hospitals looking to improve the manner in which they maintain such continuity without compromising efficiency must explore the benefits of implementing monitoring technology to its fullest potential. This case study chronicles the journey of a level-one trauma hospital during the expansion of remote wireless telemetry monitoring and the telemetry technician role.

This article examines compassion from historical, biblical, and global perspectives; spiritual connections; and calls for research to help build our understanding of what compassion means and how to enter into other's suffering.

One could expect that with new technology and advances in science, the interventions and assessments nurses perform will change over time. The practice of nursing is governed by nursing, however, it is often challenged by our partners in medicine, and frequently driven by time constraints or reimbursement issues.

The first case involves a White genetic counselor seeing an Asian family, the second, an Asian genetic counselor seeing an Asian family and the third, a hearing genetic counselor seeing a culturally Deaf client. Boundaries, transference and countertransference reactions are considered within each transcultural encounter and the author of each case reflects in detail on their role in the client interaction and their impact on the transcultural dynamic.

This process supports new application development from requirements analysis with domain models to component selection, design and modification, implementation, integration, and archival placement. It is built upon object-oriented methodologies, domain modeling strategies, and scenario-based techniques to provide an analysis process for mapping application requirements to available components.

Methods: Population-based data from the North West Regional Cancer Registry of England regarding 4157 ovarian cancer cases diagnosed between 1980 and 1989 were analyzed to determine the relative risks (RR) of second primary breast and colorectal carcinomas.
There are many potential complications which have been reported in association with the naevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome. We have been able to show the relative frequencies of these problems in a population based study of 84 cases in the north west of England. The major complications of basal cell carcinomas and jaw cysts occur in over 90% of patients by 40 years of age, but may both occur before 10 years of age.

The families constitute a subset of a larger series of familial breast cancer; the seven families were selected because constitutional DNA was available on informative members, either from clinical samples or extracted from paraffin blocks. Two-point lod scores are reported.

Only 11% of women were able to identify the correct population risk and more than half were unable to assess their own lifetime risk within 50% of the clinicians' estimate. Although it is probable that women are helped by genetic counselling and if at substantial risk, annual mammography, the psychological impact of assigning true risk and the value of mammography need to be evaluated.

One hundred seventy-three consecutive cases of medulloblastoma recorded in the Manchester Children's Tumour Registry from 1954 to 1989 were studied. After review of case notes, X-rays, and health surveys the clinical outcome and incidence of congenital anomaly was determined. A previously unreported association with Rubinstein Taybi syndrome was found.

One hundred and seventy-three consecutive cases of medulloblastoma in the North-West Regional Health Authority between 1954 and 1989 (Manchester Regional Health Board before 1974) were studied. After review of case notes, X-rays and health surveys only 2/173 cases had evidence supporting a diagnosis of GS.
