Background: Fathers remain neglected in attachment research, despite paternal sensitivity being important for children's development. Past research suggested that fathers' parenting may be influenced by contextual factors, including relationship functioning between parents.

Objective: This meta-analysis examined the association between paternal sensitivity and parental relationship functioning, and compared the magnitude of associations to those of maternal sensitivity.

Hereditary optic neuropathies, including dominant optic atrophy and Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy, are genetic disorders characterized by retinal ganglion cell degeneration leading to vision loss, mainly associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. In this study, we analysed mitochondrial distribution and ultrastructure in the retina and longitudinal optic nerve sections of pre-symptomatic hereditary optic neuropathies mouse models with Opa1 and Nd6 deficiency to identify early mitochondrial changes. Our results show significant mitochondrial fragmentation and increased mitophagy in mice, indicating early mitochondrial changes prior to neuronal loss.

Background: Exposure to air pollution can affect the health of individuals with respiratory disease, but may also impede the health and performance of athletes. This is potentially relevant for people travelling to and competing in the Olympic and Paralympic Games (OPG) in Paris. We describe anticipated air quality in Paris based on historical monitoring data and describe the impact of the process on the development of monitoring strategies for future international sporting events.

Data from seven studies (published between 1985 and 2014) including 719 children (M : 19.84 months; 51% female; 87% White) were included in the linear mixed effects analyses.

Engineering yeast for the production of plant terpenoids using synthetic biology approaches.

SKAP2 Modular Organization Differently Recognizes SRC Kinases Depending on Their Activation Status and Localization.

Dimerization of SRC kinase adaptor phosphoprotein 2 (SKAP2) induces an increase of binding for most SRC kinases suggesting a fine-tuning with transphosphorylation for kinase activation. This work addresses the molecular basis of SKAP2-mediated SRC kinase regulation through the lens of their interaction capacities. By combining a luciferase complementation assay and extensive site-directed mutagenesis, we demonstrated that SKAP2 interacts with SRC kinases through a modular organization depending both on their phosphorylation-dependent activation and subcellular localization.

Childhood behavioral inhibition and attachment: Links to generalized anxiety disorder in young adulthood.

Parental psychological distress and child maladjustment: Exploring the moderating role of sibling relationship quality.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether the quality of the sibling relationship moderates the association between parental psychological distress and child maladjustment (i.e., internalizing and externalizing problems).

A meta-analysis on observed paternal and maternal sensitivity.

Two meta-analyses were conducted (N = 10,980 child-father dyads) with 93 studies published between 1983-2020, primarily in North America and Europe, on observed parental sensitivity to children (3-180 months; 48% girls; 14% non-White) in partnered mothers and fathers. The first meta-analysis found higher maternal mean levels of observed sensitivity, with a small effect size (d = -.27).

Attachment Injury Severity, Injury-related Stress, Forgiveness, and Sexual Satisfaction in Injured Adult Partners.

An attachment injury can occur when one partner violates the assumption that they will provide comfort and caring during a moment of increased need. For injured partners, unresolved attachment injuries can underlie an enduring stress reaction and lower relationship satisfaction. However, no research has examined the associations between the perceived severity of the injury and sexual satisfaction, a central component of relationship well-being.

Do child-father and child-mother preschool insecure attachment types predict the development of externalizing behaviors in boys and girls during middle childhood?

Past meta-analyses show that both child-mother and child-father attachment insecurity are independently and jointly associated with more externalizing behaviors in children. Little is known, however, on the ways that different types of insecure attachment independently and jointly predict the development of externalizing behaviors over time. Existing work also neglects the impact of children's gender within the context of child-father relationships.

Pathways to Student Motivation: A Meta-Analysis of Antecedents of Autonomous and Controlled Motivations.

Students' self-determined motivation (acting out of interest, curiosity, and abiding values) is associated with higher academic well-being, persistence, and achievement. Self-determination theory posits that self-determined motivation is dependent on the satisfaction of three psychological needs (relatedness, competence, and autonomy), which are in turn facilitated through need-supportive behaviors from notable others. In this meta-analysis, conducted over 144 studies and more than 79,000 students, we sought to overview pathways to student motivation in order to verify (1) how do psychological needs rank in the strength of their prediction of self-determined motivation and (2) which autonomy-support providers (parents or teachers) are the most relevant for psychological need satisfaction in students and self-determined motivation.

In this study, we used individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis to assess whether early attachment networks with mothers and fathers are associated with children's internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems. Following a pre-registered protocol, data from 9 studies and 1,097 children (mean age: 28.
