Keloids are focal fibrotic responses to cutaneous trauma characterized by disordered collagen, which may be associated with elevated systemic fibrocyte levels and/or wound bed chemokine expression.

Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) results from deficiency of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH) oxidase and impaired reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation.
