Although several treatment modalities, such as tricyclic antidepressants or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, have been used to treat different symptoms, there is no definite treatment for narcolepsy. Modafinil or amphetamine-like stimulants, such as dexamphetamine or methylphenidate, are used to treat sleepiness.
