The investigation demonstrated that influenza A and B viruses actively interacted with a sorbent obtained from modified oxygen-containing graphite via hydrothermal treatment irrespective of the antigenic structure of surface proteins. Virionic sorption occurred in a wide range of temperatures from 8 to 34 degrees C for 15 min or more. After interaction with the sorbent, the titer of a virus decreased 4- to 256-fold.

The characteristic features of this potential dependence and their experimental manifestations were analyzed.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA model that describes the interactions in the system of squid axon channels is proposed. The variables of the model are channel concentration and membrane voltage. The model represents the simplest mathematical formulation of the data on axon membrane, its components, and their role in the generation and propagation of action potential.

The authors analyze the stages of readaptation and recovery of clear consciousness in the immediate postoperative period in 200 patients administered one of the four variants of intravenous anesthesia in a one-day surgical hospital. The purpose of this work was to optimize the anesthetic care and the readaptation period. The stages of readaptation were assessed by psychophysiological testing.

Basing on clinical studies of anesthesia in 568 children, central hemodynamic studies, analysis of the blood acid-base balance and gases, glycemia level, and assessment of the psychoneurologic status, the authors validate the usefulness of calypsol-based anesthesia in practical outpatient pedodontics. Such anesthesia did not influence the stability of central hemodynamics parameters, nor did it change the acid-base balance and blood sugar level; it provided an adequate protection of the patient from surgical stress with the adaptation mechanisms remaining intact. The child may leave the clinic 2.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA mathematical model for energy metabolism of erythrocytes includes the first three enzymes of the Embden-Meyerhof pathway as well as total ATPase. It was assumed that the ATPase is strongly inhibited by AMP. The model was used to calculate the dependence of the rate of ATP production and glucose consumption on ATP concentration, i.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe behaviour of ATP concentrations in intact erythrocytes upon glucose addition to the erythrocyte suspension at a constant rate was studied. At different rates of glucose addition lower than the rate of glucose consumption at normalcy, the corresponding ATP concentrations are established, which are dependent on the rate of glucose influx. The 20% decrease of ATP concentration from the physiological value is observed at a 2-fold decrease of the flux.
