Comparison of Decompression vs Enucleation Using Fractal Analysis with Panoramic Radiography for Odontogenic Cysts.

BACKGROUND Odontogenic cysts cause a decrease in bone trabeculation. This retrospective study of 37 patients with odontogenic cysts aimed to compare outcomes from treatment by decompression (marsupialization) versus enucleation, including the degree of trabeculation evaluated by fractal analysis (FA) using panoramic radiography (OPG). MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 37 patients diagnosed with odontogenic cysts between January 2012 and January 2024 were included in the study.

Retrospective evaluation of ponticulus posticus prevalence, sella turcica types, and stylohyoid complex calcifications in a group of Turkish population.

The aim of this retrospective analysis was to assess the incidence of ponticulus posticus and stylohyoid ligament calcification and to evaluate the morphological variations of the sella turcica within the Turkish demographic using CBCT scans. Involving a retrospective review of 460 CBCT scans and utilizing the NewTom 3G system, the study analyzed high-quality CBCT images to investigate ponticulus posticus, stylohyoid ligament calcifications, and sella turcica morphology. The ponticulus posticus was examined for complete or partial formations, while the stylohyoid ligament was classified according to its elongation and calcification patterns.

Evaluation of osteomeatal complex by cone-beam computed tomography in patients with maxillary sinus pathology and nasal septum deviation.

Background: This study aimed to determine if there is a relationship between the presence of maxillary sinus pathology, nasal septum deviation and various lengths of the osteomeatal complex.

Methods: A total of 223 CBCT images were included in the study. The lengths of the osteomeatal complex (maxillary sinus ostium width, infundibulum length, maxillary sinus ostium height) were analyzed.
