Citizens' Perceptions of Research and Innovation Dilemmas: Insights from a Large-Scale Survey in Four European Regions.

This study presents a valuable dataset supporting regional research and innovation systems in four European regions: Vestland (Norway), Kriti (Greece), Galicia (Spain), and Overijssel (Netherlands). It focuses on understanding citizens' perceptions of research and innovation dilemmas within these regions. The dataset comprises 14 questions aligned with the Responsible Research and Innovation framework, evaluating stakeholders' techno-moral attitudes towards technological change and socio-economic outcomes.

"Mi voglio bene": a pediatrician-based randomized controlled trial for the prevention of obesity in Italian preschool children.

Background: The first years of life are crucial to start preventive interventions that can have an impact on lifestyle and later overweight and obesity. Under the Italian National Health System (INHS), children are cared for by family pediatricians who perform health balances at regular intervals. The Italian Society of Preventive and Social Pediatrics (SIPPS) has designed a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the effectiveness of family pediatricians for the prevention of childhood obesity in preschool children.

Anemia in infants with congenital hypothyroidism diagnosed by neonatal screening.

Although anemia is a common finding in adult hypothyroid patients, there are no studies on anemia in hypothyroid infants. The aim of this study, therefore, was to review the hematologic status during the first year of life in 50 infants with congenital hypothyroidism detected through the regional neonatal screening program. Bendazac and benzydamine for treatment of cataract: individualized therapy by the "BLOA test".

It was found that two chemically very close Non-Steroid Antiinflammatory Drugs (NSAID), bendazac and benzydamine, were able to reduce the Biological Liquid Oxidant Activity (BLOA) in vitro (bendezac) and in vivo (bendazac and benzydamine). Four hundred and seven patients were treated with bendazac and 599 with benzydamine. After a single dose oral administration they effected a BLOA Reducing Activity (BRA) ranging from 5% to over 20% in about 40% of cataractous patients.
