[Problems of hemostasis and hermetic properties in liver resections with application of fibrin-collagen substance].

Forty-seven patients with various diseases of the liver were treated from 1992 to 2002. Patients had undergone liver resections of different scope. In 20 patients (study group) wound covering "Tachokomb" was used for final hemostasis and high hermetic properties of wound surface.

[Nephropathy-related disorders of physical and sexual development in girls: experience with successful stimulation by zinc, parlodel and norcolut].

The paper reports 3 cases of physical and sexual retardation in girls aged 14-22 with nephropathy: 1 girl had uremia in a conservative stage, 1 patient was put on a chronic hemodialysis for terminal uremia, 1 girl received a renal transplant. [Pathospermia in patients with glomerulonephritis and rheumatoid arthritis treated by immunodepressants: the possibilities of its correction with zinc and parlodel].

Two groups of patients aged 16.5-31 years with pathospermia given immunodepressants (IDS) for glomerulonephritis (group I) or rheumatoid arthritis (group II) before and/or at the moment of examination were examined. Five out of 6 patients of group I and all the patients of group II showed azoospermia.

[Zinc and parlodel: the treatment potentials for retardation of growth and sexual development in nephropathies in adolescents].

Ten adolescents aged 10-18 years with physical and/or sexual development retardation associated with nephropathy were examined. Eight patients were treated with immunodepressants before and/or at the moment of examination. The difference between the age indicated in the patient's passport and bone age ranged within 0 to 3 years.

[Zinc in the treatment of hypogonadism in patients with renal pathology].

The relationship of the symptoms of hypogonadism (HG) with the serum level (SL) of zinc was investigated in 31 uremic male patients: 16 on hemodialysis (I group), 10 on a low-protein diet (II group), and 5 kidney graft recipients (III group). A conclusion has been made that in renal pathology a zinc SL does not always reflect the content of zinc in the body however zinc acetate therapy is effective in the treatment of HG patients as well as in the treatment of retarded physical and sexual development in adolescents with nephropathies.

[Characteristics of the functioning of the human hypophyseal-gonadal system during 1-time sleep deprivation].

The authors studied indices of the activity of the hypophyseogonadal system under the conditions of single sleep deprivation of 24-36 h duration and in the period of recovery. Eleven healthy men aged 21 to 26 were recruited in the study. Two series of investigations were performed: I--the examinees were studied before, after 24 h sleep deprivation and after the first recovery night; II--the scheme of investigation was identical but it included electroauriculopuncture 5-6 h after the start of sleep deprivation.

[Participation of adrenal hormones in the genesis of arterial hypertension of hypothalamic origin].

Continuous many-hour stimulation of the hypothalamic negative emotiogenic centres (ventromedial nuclei) evoked a stable arterial hypertension with a peculiar phasic dynamics of the adrenal secretory activity in waking immobilized rabbits. Bilateral extirpation of the adrenal glands decreased the initial level of the average arterial pressure, inhibiting development of stable arterial hypertension. Many-hour stimulation of the mentioned structures also produced stable arterial hypertension in adrenalectomized rabbits if preceded by the administration of hydrocortisone together with adrenaline.
