Background: Prostate cancer (PC) affects millions of men, causing high mortality rates. Despite the treatment approaches, the options for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), a lethal form of advanced PC, are still limited. Cabazitaxel (Cbx) is the last taxane-derived chemotherapeutic approved for Docetaxel- resistant mCRPC patients.

Objective: To review the European literature on participatory approaches in CM research.
Background: The Work-Related Questionnaire for Upper Extremity Disorders (WORQ-UP) serves as a patient-reported outcome measure to identify work-related limitations in individuals with upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders. This study aims to adapt the WORQ-UP into Turkish and subsequently evaluate its validity and reliability.
Methods: The Turkish WORQ-UP, along with the previously validated Turkish Quick DASH, were administered to 136 patients.
Introduction: The workload of physicians increased due to the number of patients presenting with suspicion of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and the prolonged wait times in the emergency department during the COVID-19 pandemic. Signal peptide-CUB-EGF domain-containing protein 1 (SCUBE-1) is a protein present in platelets and endothelial cells; it is activated by inflammation from COVID-19 and may be associated with COVID-19's known thrombotic risk. We aimed to determine whether SCUBE-1 levels are diagnostically correlated in suspected COVID-19 patients, and whether SCUBE-1 correlated with severity of disease and, therefore, might be useful to guide hospitalization/discharge decisions.

This approach does not allow for the remodeling of the frontal segment. However, in the technique described herein, the fronto-orbital segment is separated from dura, remodeled, and advanced as a bone graft using distractors.

Cognitive impairment affects the ability to perform daily activities and mobility behaviors. Traditional assessment methods have drawbacks, so smart home technologies (SmHT) have emerged to offer objective, high-frequency, and remote monitoring.

Methods: Thirty-seven guinea pigs with a normal auditory function were randomly allocated to group 1 (cisplatin; n = 8), group 2 (memantine; n = 8), group 3 (cisplatin + memantine; n = 8), group 4 (cisplatin + physiological serum [PS]; n = 8), and group 5 (control; n = 5). Auditory assessments were conducted using distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) within a frequency range of 1-32 kHz and auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) within 8-32 kHz.
Background: Numerous research studies have explored the impact of micronutrients, including dietary minerals such as iron, zinc, selenium, copper, and vitamins A, B complex, C, D, and E, on periodontitis. However, there is no literature investigating the role of iodine in periodontal health.
Objectives: This study aimed to examine the potential influence of iodine, a trace element, on periodontal health, an area that has not yet been researched.
Objective: The present study aimed to investigate the symptomatic swallowing complaints in individuals with total laryngectomy (TL) and reveal how swallowing kinematics differs between those with and without symptomatic dysphagia complaints.
Methods: A total of 34 subjects with TL were included in the study. Swallowing kinematics of those with symptomatic swallowing complaints (Group 1) were compared to those without (Group 2).
Background/aim: To investigate the relationship between sex-related visceral obesity and WHO/ISUP nuclear grade in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).
Materials And Methods: Between January 2018 and June 2022, 95 patients (56 men and 39 women) with pathologically proven ccRCC who underwent abdominal computed tomography examination were retrospectively examined. The patients were classified into two groups: low- and high-WHO/ISUP nuclear grade ccRCC (n = 58 and n = 37), respectively.
Hyperglycaemia, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension and obesity are the main risk factors affecting the development and prognosis of ischaemic heart disease, which is still an important cause of death today. In our study, male Sprague-Dawley rats were fed either a standard diet (SD) or a high fat and high carbohydrate diet (HF-HCD) for 8 weeks and streptozotocin (STZ) was injected at the seventh week of the feeding period. In one set of rats, a mixture of a prebiotic and probiotics (synbiotic, SYN) was administered by gavage starting from the beginning of the feeding period.

The thulium fiber laser, with its superficial penetration depth, can offer a rapid learning process by causing less heat injury and capsule damage. This study compares the first 60 cases of an endourologist performing thulium fiber enucleation of the prostate (ThuFLEP) without a mentor to the results of OP and TURP performed by experienced surgeons.

It can be conducted in different positions, especially supine and prone positions. PCNL in the supine position is becoming increasingly common due to its advantages, such as simultaneous retrograde intervention and better anesthesia management.

To guide physicians in answering this query, we performed a scoping review to assess the current state of the literature and to identify the gaps that need to be addressed.
Materials And Methods: The authors performed a MEDLINE search inclusive of articles from January 1987 (advent of DBS literature) to June 2023 including human and modeling studies written in English.
At the top of many ecosystems, raptors, also known as birds of prey, hold major influence. They shape their surroundings through their powerful hunting skills and complex interactions with their environment. This study investigates the beak morphology of four prominent raptor species, Golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), Common buzzard (Buteo buteo), Peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus) and Common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus), found in Türkiye.

Materials And Methods: We created PE in rats using a reduced uterine perfusion pressure (RUPP) animal model and recorded blood pressure (BP), embryonic survival (ES), and embryonic weight (EW) and evaluated cochlear morphology by electron microscopy.
Results: The PE group had elevated BP, a decreased number and weight of live pups, and significant degeneration in the cochlea compared to the sham group.
Percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) is the most commonly performed minimally invasive intensive care unit procedure worldwide. This study evaluated the percentage of consistency between the entry site observed with fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB) and the prediction for the PDT level based on pre-procedural ultrasonography (USG) in PDT procedures performed using the forceps dilatation method. The effect of morphological features on intervention sites was also investigated.

The goal of the treatment is to achieve the most stable fixation that allows early mobilization. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the biomechanical results of the use of different fixation systems in the treatment of distal femur periprosthetic fractures with finite element analysis.

Methods: Children ages 3 to 10 years old were screened by the SVS before and after cycloplegia. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, paired t-test, Bland-Altman plot and receiver operating characteristic area under the curve were evaluated by comparing the results of the SVS (v3.

Otitic Hydrocephalus (OH) is one of the most significant life-threatening complications of otological infections. Given their low prevalence and non-specific ear symptoms, this complication requires a high index of suspicion for diagnosis. In this case report, we aim to provide an analysis of OH and describe common clinical signs and symptoms, treatment options, morbidity and mortality.

Methods: This study was designed as a retrospective study consisting of UI, DI, and a control group, each containing age-matched 40 patients. Statistical comparisons were made among the UI, DI, and control groups in terms of the FSFI total score as well as each domain's score.
This study explores the contact between anthropometric Z-score values and ocular parameters in children. Recent studies investigated the relationship, and contact between anthropometric measurements and ocular parameters in children, and height, weight, body mass index, and percentile curves are mostly used as anthropometric data. However, today, different scoring systems such as "Z-score" classify anthropometric values.
