[The hemodynamic and functional effects of using embolization of the splenic artery and endoscopic sclerotherapy in patients with liver cirrhosis at the decompensation stage].

Complex studies were made of hepatoportal hemodynamics and functional reserves of the liver in 30 patients with decompensated cirrhosis following combined use of embolization of the spleen artery and sclerotherapy of varicose veins of the esophagus. Clinical assessment of the results obtained revealed stabilizing effect the sparing interventions have on the course of the underlying pathological process.
