Introduction: We report a rare case of the continuous type of splenogonadal fusion (SGF) in a young adolescent with preserved testis.
Case Presentation: A 19-year-old male patient with a history of left inguinal hernia repair 10 years ago presented with a palpable mass on the left side. Computed tomography revealed a 58x37mm mass with a tissue density of 47HU, demonstrating vigorous enhancement following contrast administration and displaying well-defined margins with the left testicle.

Introduction: We report a rare case of primary malignant melanoma with inguinal lymph node metastasis in the male urethra.
Case Presentation: A 57-year-old male patient presented with a small tumor on the ventral surface of the penis, which was discovered 5 months ago and did not cause pain or discomfort. In the past month, the patient has developed symptoms of urinary incontinence.
In our search for new small molecules activating procaspase-3, we have designed and synthesized a series of new acetohydrazides incorporating both 2-oxoindoline and 4-oxoquinazoline scaffolds. Biological evaluation showed that a number of these acetohydrazides were comparably or even more cytotoxic against three human cancer cell lines (SW620, colon cancer; PC-3, prostate cancer; NCI-H23, lung cancer) in comparison to PAC-1, a first procaspase-3 activating compound, which was used as a positive control. One of those new compounds, 2-(6-chloro-4-oxoquinazolin-3(4H)-yl)-N'-[(3Z)-5-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-3H-indol-3-ylidene]acetohydrazide activated the caspase-3 activity in U937 human lymphoma cells by 5-fold higher than the untreated control.

The present study aimed to evaluate the role of PIVKA-II in the diagnosis of HCC in HBV-infected Vietnamese patients.

However, little is known about the status of occult HBV infection in the Solomon Islands. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of occult HBV infection and its clinical and virological features in the community of Solomon Islands.

CagA-positive strains are more likely to cause gastric cancer than CagA-negative strains. Based on EPIYA (Glu-Pro-Ile-Tyr-Ala) motifs at the carboxyl terminus corresponding to phosphorylation sites, H.

To investigate the genomic difference of HBV genotype C between two separated regions, 50 subgenotype Cs-infected Vietnamese and 70 subgenotype Ce-infected Japanese patients were enrolled for analysis. The patients were categorized to either a hepatocellular carcinoma group (HCC) or a non-HCC group including liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, and asymptomatic carriers.

The prevalence relative to ethnicity was examined in relation to HBV infection, genotypes, and mutations. Asymptomatic populations (n = 564, 308 Melanesian and 118 Micronesian) from the Western Province were enrolled.

The characteristics of HBV and its relationship to clinical outcome in patients from Northern Vietnam were analyzed. Serum samples were collected from 183 HBV-infected Vietnamese patients.

To investigate the long-term efficacy of IFN-alpha therapy in chronic hepatitis B, 62 Japanese patients, including 27 patients treated with IFN-alpha (IFN group) and 35 patients without antiviral therapy matched by age and sex as controls (control group), were followed up for 2-14 years. At entry, the serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) level in the IFN group was significantly higher than that in the control group (238.

Methods: A retrospective study using sera at a followed endpoint from 64 Japanese patients with chronic HBV infection seen in Kobe University Hospital between 1989 and 2002. Sera of patients were assayed using a polymerase chain reaction-based assay.
