It is well-known that soil allelotoxicity and the water stability of soil structure are determined by the entry of plant residues into the soil, but the relationship of these soil properties has not been investigated. Soil samples from the fields of the Federal Research Center "Nemchinovka" after growing 25 cultivars of spring and winter wheat on plots with sod-podzolic soil are selected in this study. The effect of the soil's allelotoxicity of plot samples on the germination of spring wheat seed of the Liza cultivar is studied by the biotesting method.

Primary visual cortex contains a set of modules, and their postnatal development depends on a combination of internal genetic and external (defined by visual environment) factors. In order to examine a development of intermodular interactions in visual cortex of kittens subjected to rhythmic light stimulation (15 Hz and 50 Hz frequencies, groups RLS-15 and RLS-50), we investigate an intermodular signal correlation by mean of optical imaging technique. Data was compared with control kittens and with kittens reared with no visual experience in total darkness (group DARK).

The impact of system anesthetic propofol on strength of functional response was investigated in population of primary visual cortex neurons. Elaborated protocol of anesthesia allowed appropriate depth of anesthesia and artifact free experimental data recording. At the start of experiment optical access to the surface of cortex was provided.

Screening of the newborns helped diagnose congenital hypothyrosis in infants of Moscow and define its incidence as 1 per 5000 newborns. Seventeen newborns (20%) with congenital hypothyrosis were detected among 65 ones with positive tests of more than 5 microU/ml. Clinical manifestations of this disease may be detected by specialists within the first weeks of life.

This short communication compares a novel fluorimetric microplate enzyme immunoassay (FEIA) with a commercial time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay for the determination of thyrotropin in dried blood spots. The evaluation was performed using a retrospective study design with newborn blood samples from three screening centres. Non-parametric Spearman rank correlation analysis revealed highly significant positive correlation between methods: rs = 0.

Among the staphylococci, enterotoxigenous strains that partially or completely lost their enzymatic activity occurred in an insignificant number of cases. Enzymatic activity (plasma-coagulation, the presence of DNase and mannitol fermentation under anaerobic conditions) makes it possible to classify the strains isolated with Staphylococcus aureus.

The presence of thermostable DNase in the absence of enterotoxin was detected in 45.6% of the strains isolated from food and in 28.

It has been shown by the serological method that the enterotoxin localizes in the form of @nests" at sites of infection with staphylococci and their reproduction. Scientifically grounded sterilization regimes used nowadays in industry ensure complete inactivation in canned foods of staphylococcal enterotoxin, if any, before sterilization.

These data are of importance for prophylaxis of food poisonings of staphycoloccal etiology.

Thermal treatment of staphylococcus enterotoxin of type A at the stage of the cultural fluid failed to influence the character of the enterotoxin purification under the given conditions. In both cases the amount of the removed nitrogen components constituted about 97%. The purified preparations of the staphylococcus enterotoxin of type A differed from one another by the data of electrophoresis and ultracentrifugation and also by the antigenic composition.
