Similar to all other system anomalies, congenital nasal anomalies are caused by the defects during embriyogenesis and organogenesis. Nasal tip anomalies are usually accompanied by other systemic pathologies and syndromes. In this article, we report a nose anomaly with the same nasal tip appearance in three siblings.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is defined as the most commonly seen anxiety disorder accompanying the bipolar disorder, and this concomitance causes the difficulties in the therapy. Although electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is efficient in both manic and depressive episodes of the bipolar disorder, it is considered as a therapeutic option in cases of OCD with depression comorbidity. In this article, we aimed to present a case in which depressive episode of bipolar disorder and OCD comorbidity were present; both depressive and OCD symptoms were resolved using ECT.

Challenges and solutions for using informatics in research.

Computer technology provides innovations for research but not without concomitant challenges. Herein, we present our experiences with technology challenges and solutions across 16 nursing research studies. Issues included intervention integrity, software updates and compatibility, web accessibility and implementation, hardware and equipment, computer literacy of participants, and programming.

Investigation of DNA damage by the alkaline comet assay in 131I-treated thyroid cancer patients.

Objective: To assess the possible applicability of comet assay in the evaluation of DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation. The alkaline comet assay or single-cell gel electrophoresis has been used as a standard method for measuring and analyzing DNA damage.
