Purpose: Bilateral inferior petrosal sinus sampling (BIPSS) is the gold standard for localizing ACTH-dependent Cushing's syndrome (CS). While corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) was initially used for stimulation, desmopressin has become a common alternative. This research evaluates desmopressin's effectiveness in lateralizing Cushing's disease (CD) during BIPSS compared to CRH stimulation.

The MDM2-p53 pathway plays a pivotal role in regulating cell cycle and apoptosis, with its dysfunction contributing to approximately 50% of human malignancies. MDM2, an E3 ubiquitin ligase, targets the tumour suppressor p53 for degradation, thereby promoting uncontrolled cell growth in cancers. Inhibiting the MDM2-p53 interaction represents a promising therapeutic strategy for reactivating p53's tumour-suppressive functions.

Multiple microRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to be associated with breast cancer progression or metastasis. The purpose of the current study was to identify plasma extracellular miRNAs associated with incident breast cancer.

We use a translational approach integrating clinical phenotyping and outcomes, circulating proteomics, and tissue transcriptomics to identify dynamic, functional biomarkers of hepatic steatosis. Using multi-modality imaging and broad proteomic profiling, we identify proteins implicated in the progression of hepatic steatosis that are largely encoded by genes enriched at the transcriptional level in the human liver.

However, there has been limited literature examining the relationship between pediatric brain injuries and IPV-related brain injuries later in life. We examined the association between childhood brain injuries and brain injuries sustained from IPV in adulthood.

The study cohort comprised 52 children with OBPP, aged 4-14 years, who had undergone a shoulder tendon transfer. The ROM was quantified using a goniometer, while functionality was evaluated through the administration of the Brachial Plexus Outcome Measure (BPOM).

The prognostic importance of ERS in non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients is unknown.

However, its impact on insulin signaling remains unexplored. This study sought to elucidate the novel role of donepezil in mitigating skeletal muscle insulin resistance under hyperlipidemic conditions.

The global increase in carbapenem resistance poses a significant public health threat due to the potential emergence of multidrug-resistant pathogens and limited treatment options. To learn more about this issue and offer potential solutions, we conducted a study of carbapenem-resistant (CRPA) infections in a secondary care hospital setting. The study utilized the carbapenem inactivation method (CIM), a leading phenotypic analysis, to determine carbapenemase activity in 63 CRPA isolates.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is associated with a high prevalence of cardiac fibrosis and VAs, but abnormal SAECG has low predictive power for VAs. We hypothesized that HCM-specific structural/electrical remodeling underlies this result.

This study was conducted with a total of 119 patients diagnosed with major depression. Data were collected with Personal Information Form, Mindfulness Scale, Emotion Regulation Difficulties Scale, and Psychological Resilience Scale.

This study aims to compare individuals with pectus deformities to a healthy control group, shedding light on the condition's etiology and prognosis.
Method: Conducted as a case-control study between 2020 and 2022, the research included a case group of 71 patients with pectus excavatum or pectus carinatum who were followed up at the Pediatric Cardiology outpatient clinic.
Dysphagia is defined as difficulty in swallowing, while presbyphagia is described as a change in swallowing process in healthy older adults, which is a compensable physiological impairment and synonymous with dysphagia. Aging is a well-known risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD), and oropharyngeal dysphagia (OD) is a common condition in AD. Our study aims to compare OD in AD patients and older adults with presbyphagia (OAwP).

Methods: The cross-sectional study included 1345 patients.
Empathy, defined as the ability to understand and share another person's feelings, is crucial in the healthcare setting, particularly for patients with cancer who face significant psychosocial challenges. We aimed to develop a novel tool, the Empathy, Life with Cancer, and Psychosocial Skills (ELPIS) Scale that prioritizes emotional and cognitive components in order to determine the reflection of the negative stigmatization of cancer in societies on individuals, excluding the behavioral and ethical dimensions of empathy. The study was conducted using a quantitative research design with a sample of first- and second-year medical students in Türkiye.

Background: Determination of SARS-CoV-2 variant is significant to prevent the spreads of COVID-19 disease.
Methods: We aimed to evaluate the variants of SARS-CoV-2 rate in positive patients in Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Training and Research Hospital (KSS-TRH), Istanbul, Türkiye between 1st January and 30th November 2021 by using RT-PCR method.
Results: Herein, 825,169 patients were evaluated (male:58.
Introduction: Conflicting findings exist regarding the link between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and cardiovascular diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the frontal QRS-T (fQRS-T) angle and its correlation with symptom severity in children diagnosed with ADHD.
Methods: The study population consisted of 172 patients diagnosed with ADHD (120 drug naive and 52 drug positive) and 82 healthy controls.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been studied predominantly in terms of its immediate respiratory and systemic effects. However, emerging evidence suggests possible long-term effects, including its role in carcinogenesis. This comprehensive review explores the complex relationship between COVID-19 and cancer development, focusing on immune dysregulation, chronic inflammation, genetic and epigenetic alterations, and the impact of therapeutic interventions.
