Introduction: Clinicians are the conduits of high-quality care delivery. Clinicians have driven advancements in pharmacotherapeutics, devices, and related interventions and improved morbidity and mortality in patients with congestive heart failure over the past decade. Yet, the management of congestive heart failure has become extraordinarily complex and has fueled recommendations from the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology to optimize the composition of the care team to reduce the health, economic, and the health system burden of high lengths of stay and hospital charges.

Current guidelines recommend adding long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMAs) in patients with uncontrolled asthma, despite the use of moderate to high doses of inhaled steroid-long-acting beta agonists (ICS/LABA). This study aims to analyze the factors related to the prescription of add-on LAMA in clinical practice for asthma patients, shedding light on physicians' preferences. This study included adult asthma patients on add-on LAMA and ICS/LABA monitored for at least one year in a national registry comprising 2053 asthmatics.

Objectives: This study sought to assess the diagnostic value of ultrasonography (USG) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for the visibility of periodontal defects.

Materials And Methods: We created 37 periodontal defects (dehiscence and fenestration) in fresh sheep mandibles. Two dentomaxillofacial radiologists assessed the CBCT and ultrasonographic images for the presence of defects.

We aimed to investigate whether pulsed magnetic fields (PMFs) (1 mT) may have preventive effects on myocardial damage and apoptosis in rats with sepsis. Twenty-eight adult Wistar albino rats were evenly distributed among four experimental groups, each consisting of seven rats: SH, LF-PMF, HF-PMF, and CLP. Sepsis induction was carried out via the cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) method, while rats in the LF-PMF and HF-PMF groups were exposed to 7.

Background And Aim: The purpose of this research was to ascertain how exposure to extremely low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (ELF-PEMFs) at varying intensities affects apoptosis-related protein expression levels and liver morphology in rats.

Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, 40 Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, with 10 animals in each group: Control, Sham, 1 milli Tesla (1mT), and 5 mT groups. The control group did not expose any application during the experiment.

Metal nanoparticles (NPs) are commonly used nanomaterials, however concerns have been raised about their toxicity. Although a few studies have reported the toxicity of NPs on cells, they have generally been restricted to a limited variety of NPs, inappropriate cell lines, or culture methods. Thus, the adverse effects remain inadequately understood, necessitating further analysis.

Background: Microglia play a critical role in neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, where alterations in microglial function may result in pathogenic amyloid-β (Aβ) accumulation, chronic neuroinflammation, and deleterious effects on neuronal function. However, studying these complex factors in vivo, where numerous confounding processes exist, is challenging, and until recently, in vitro models have not allowed sustained culture of critical cell types in the same culture.

Objective: We employed a rat primary tri-culture (neurons, astrocytes, and microglia) model and compared it to co-culture (neurons and astrocytes) and mono-culture (microglia) to study microglial function (i.

Background: The main purpose of the study is to comprehensively evaluate population-level survival disparities stage-by-stage, according to specific anatomical colon segments, and based on prognosis as defined by lymph nodes among patients who have undergone curative resection for non-metastatic colon cancer.

Methods: The study was conducted from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Result (SEER) program from the USA. Patients who underwent surgery for colon adenocarcinoma between 2000 and 2019 were identified.

RAG2 deficiency is characterized by a lack of B and T lymphocytes, causing severe lethal infections. Currently, RAG2 deficiency is treated with a Hematopoietic Stem Cell transplantation (HSCT). Most conditioning regimens used before HSCT consist of alkylating myelotoxic agents with or without irradiation and affect growth and development of pediatric patients.

In this study, a new ferrocene-decorated cyclotriphosphazene compound () was obtained by the interaction of ferrocene chalcone with azide end groups () and spirophosphazene () bearing alkyne groups using the click method. The structures of all compounds were confirmed using Fourier transform infrared, H, C APT, and P NMR, and MS techniques. The optical band gaps of compounds were measured, showing values of 4.

Article Synopsis
  • - Testicular ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury poses a major issue in urology, and the study investigates the protective effects of the antioxidant -Anethole on this condition in male rats.
  • - Twenty-eight rats were divided into four groups, with two groups receiving 100 or 200 mg/kg -Anethole during ischemia; results showed significant improvements in the I/R + 200 group compared to the I/R group, particularly in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.
  • - The findings suggest that -Anethole may offer gonadoprotective benefits during testicular I/R injury, specifically by influencing the transcription factors STAT3 and NF-κB, but further evaluation of potential benefits and side effects

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the relationship between thyroid autoantibodies (specifically anti-thyroid peroxidase, or anti-TPO) and the severity of strokes, focusing on whether stroke site (anterior vs. posterior brain regions) affects anti-TPO levels.
  • - A total of 39 patients with acute ischemic stroke were analyzed, excluding young patients and those with other autoimmune diseases, finding that strokes in posterior regions occurred in younger patients and had significantly lower anti-TPO levels compared to anterior strokes.
  • - The conclusion highlights that higher anti-TPO levels are associated with anterior stroke localization, suggesting thyroiditis and anti-TPO positivity should be considered important in stroke assessment by healthcare providers.

The presence of antibiotics in natural water bodies is a growing problem regarding the occurrence of antibiotic resistance among various species. This is mainly caused by the excessive use of medical and veterinary antibiotics as well as the lack of effective treatment processes for eliminating residual antibiotics from wastewaters. In this study, we introduce a genetically engineered biomaterial as a solution for the effective degradation of one of the dominantly found antibiotics in natural water bodies.
