It is known that particles released from the prosthesis due to wear after joint replacement surgery affect the lymphatic system. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) technique on pain, edema, and blood lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels in the early period of lymphatic transport affected by total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Twenty-four patients who underwent TKA were randomly allocated (control: 12; MLD: 12).

Background: There is inconsistent evidence suggesting that people with chronic low back pain may differ in variability of repeated trunk movements compared to people without chronic low back pain. These inconsistencies may be due to low reliability and task dependence of movement variability measures, which can be addressed using multiple movement tasks and summary measures.

Methods: Participants with and without chronic low back pain were recruited.

Objectives: Basilar artery atherosclerotic plaque is the predominant cause of stroke in the posterior circulation. İscheamic stroke caused basilar artery atherosclerosis faces a high risk of recurrence despite optimal medical treatment, which might lie in the less than ideal recognition of underlying stroke mechanism and lack of individualized treatment for strokes of different mechanisms. We aim in this study to investigate the effect on stroke mechanism, stroke recurrence and clinical outcome in stroke patients with basilar artery atherosclerosis.

Surgical Odyssey in Treating Recurrent Congenital Nasal Pyriform Aperture Stenosis.

We present a case report of congenital nasal pyriform aperture stenosis, in which the child was managed with a series of less invasive surgical procedures, which were eventually followed by repair via a sublabial approach. This case report aims to highlight that in severe stenosis, earlier open surgical intervention with bone drilling is suggested, as dilatation alone will result in recurrent stenosis. Open surgery with bone drilling not only facilitates faster recovery but also aids in oxygen weaning, shortens hospitalization duration, and reduces the risk of complications.

Background: The Singapore integrated 24-hour activity guide for children and adolescents was introduced to promote healthy lifestyle behaviors, including physical activity, sedentary behavior, sleep, and diet, to enhance metabolic health and prevent noncommunicable diseases. To support the dissemination and implementation of these recommendations, a user-friendly online resource was created to help children and adolescents adopt these behaviors in Singapore.
