Introduction: Some people living with HIV (PLWH) receiving ART in Indonesia display poor clearance of replicating virus. This has been associated with HIV-associated sensory neuropathy. Here we assess whether treatment failure reflects the presence of drug resistance mutations.

Methods: A prospective observational case series study was conducted of all suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients from Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) and the Universitas Indonesia Hospital (RSUI).
Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is one of the crucial national vaccination programs aimed at reducing the prevalence of the diseases associated with HPV infections, which continue to pose a global health concern. However, a significant disparity exists in the distribution of HPV vaccine, particularly in low-middle income countries where the cost of HPV vaccine becomes a major obstacle. Thus, it is essential to ensure the availability of an economically feasible HPV vaccine, necessitating immediate efforts to enhance the cost-effectiveness of vaccine production.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, fifty-three patients were recruited from two COVID-19 referral hospitals in Jakarta (Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital and Persahabatan Hospital) from July 2020 to March 2021. The inclusion criteria were patients who were suspected of or confirmed cases of COVID-19 with or without ocular symptoms.
Background: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) has been linked with cardiovascular disease (CVD) in populations where some individuals are seronegative. However, effects of CMV are unclear in HIV patients who all have high levels of CMV antibodies. Other metrics of their CMV burden are needed.

CMV-seropositive Indonesian HIV patients (n = 40) were studied before ART and after six months, alongside healthy controls (n = 20). 50% of patients started ART with detectable CMV DNA.

Objective: Here we provide molecular data for HIVDR in the CRF01_AE subtype in Bali, Indonesia.
Method: Seventy patients were enrolled in this study and grouped into treatment failure and treatment naïve groups.
Background And Objectives: Annona muricata leaf infusion has traditionally been consumed to maintain health, but is now considered for use in treating cancer patients. The objective of this study was to elucidate the effects of A. muricata leaf extract in humans and human cell lines.

Many research activities in which biological materials have been created, modified, stored, and manipulated require safety procedures to keep the negative effects on humans and the environment as low as possible. The Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) Department of the University of Indonesia (UI) is trying to increase the awareness and responsibility of its university members and laboratory staffs who work with biohazard materials by creating a biorisk checklist.

Methods: the SARS-CoV N gene was cloned into pQE-80L vector, and the constructs were transformed into Escherichia coli BL21. The 6x His-tagged N protein was expressed by inducing the bacterial cells with isopropyl-1-thio-D-galactopyranoside (IPTG) and purified by Ni-NTA affinity resin.
The HIV/AIDS pandemic continues to spread and an AIDS vaccine is urgently needed. Regional alliances and international collaborations can foster the development and evaluation of the next generation of AIDS vaccine candidates. The importance of coordinating and harmonizing efforts across regional alliances has become abundantly clear.

Sequence analysis was conducted on structural and non-structural genes of 7 strains of dengue virus type-3 (DENV-3 virus) isolated in Indonesia and Thailand in the year 1973, 1994, and 1998 from patients with different clinical manifestations. In general, sequence similarity among isolates was greater than 93%, indicating that the mutation rate of DENV-3 circulating in this region was not more than 7% in the last 3 decades and suggesting that sequences that may responsible for viral architectures and/or biological function were strictly conserved. Mutations unique to viral strains associated with specific clinical manifestations were not found.
